Women's Rights Advocate Shot Dead in Afghanistan

I am not sure what is more stunning, the silence of various feminist groups over repeated examples of true oppression at the hands of radical islamists or the fact that the MSM steps on eggs when connecting the dots between radical Islam and various acts of terror. The same goes for gay rights groups who ignore the fact that a loss in the war against Islamic terror would result in the most virulent attacks on gay people across the world.

A senior women’s affairs official who has criticised the Taleban’s treatment of women was shot dead outside her home in southern Afghanistan today.

Safia Ama Jan was getting into a car outside her house in the city of Kandahar when two gunmen on motorcycles opened fire.

No one claimed responsibility for the attack, although Taleban insurgents have killed numerous government officials as part of their war against the Government and foreign forces supporting it.

Mrs Ama Jan had worked as the provincial director of Afghanistan’s Ministry of Women’s Affairs since the Taleban were overthrown five years ago. She may have been targeted for her opposition to the Islamic extremists‘ attempts to limit women’s involvement in politics and education. - Times Online UK

Uh, you think? For the record, Taleban insurgents are Islamic extremists. They typically launch attacks on NATO and coalition troops using various methods including suicide bombers.

This war on terror is not simply a matter of electing Republicans to power as some will lead you to believe. Everybody who stands for free speech, expression of all religions and the ability to live without the fear of the oppressive thumb of radicals should be concerned about radical Islam.
