When Stupid People Blog

One of the things that rankles conservatives so much about the nutroot class of liberals is that many of them think they are so much smarter than everyone else. Quite often the ones that are the least intelligent just so happen to be the ones that have the biggest voice.
Case in point is John Edwards’ new campaign blog master Amanda Marcotte. I hadn’t heard of her myself until the smarter half of the sunshine boys announced his latest staff acquisition apparently without checking into her scribbles on her personal blog Pandagon. It seems that Marcotte is the typical anti-religious lefty; the kind who is too stupid to leave her Catholic bashing remarks at the door even though she has aspirations of becoming a major player in liberal politics. (h/t National Review Online)
Here is a one of the wittier remarks that the Pandamoron author said in her “FAQ ON THE CATHOLIC CHURCH’S ‘CRAZY’ TEACHINGS ABOUT BIRTH CONTROL” post.
Q: What if Mary had taken Plan B after the Lord filled her with his hot, white, sticky Holy Spirit?
A: You’d have to justify your misogyny with another ancient mythology.
The statement smacks with the kind of infantile liberal humor that we have all come to know and snicker at when we troll the comments over at moonbat central; not snickering for humor mind you, nope, the snicker is the rolling of the eyes type that one gets when nutroots like Marcotte are legitimized by politicians like John Edwards. It is the same kind of snicker I get every time I stop by and read comments posted to the diaries of congressmen on the hate filled Daily Kos; congressmen like John Kerry and John Conyers. They share space with the same hateful crowd that John Edwards hired to lead his Presidential campaign in the blogosphere.
I am not sure that John Edwards was so unbelievably stupid as to hire the person who penned the following gem:
There’s a pragmatic reason that the Vatican might be a little hesitant to come right out and say that there’s no limbo (definition here, for those who don’t know much about Catholicism) is because the concept is wielded by everyday Catholics to explain where the souls of unborn babies go, which is just an extra way to guilt trip women who have abortions. But it’s sort of a balancing act, as far as I can tell, because as most people understand it, unbaptized children go to limbo but when Jesus returns, they all get to go to heaven. So it’s a way to guilt trip women who have abortions without casting god as such an uncruel monster as to throw souls into hell that never even had a shot at sinning. So that’s limbo: it sucks enough to make women feel guilty about abortion, but it doesn’t suck so much as to run people off.
I suspect Pope Ratz will give into the urge eventually to come out and say there’s no limbo and unbaptized babies go straight to hell. He can’t help it; he’s just a dictator like that. Hey, fish gotta swim, birds gotta fly, the Pope’s gotta tell women who give birth to stillborns that their babies are cast into Satan’s maw. The alternative is to let Catholic women who get abortions feel that it’ll all work out in the end, which is just not doable, due to that Jesus-like compassion the Pope is so fond of. Still, it’s going to be bad PR for the church, so you can sort of see why the Pope is dragging ass.
This is the epitome of stupidity on both parts, Edwards for his obvious error in judgment and Marcotte for assuming that all Catholics are right wing nut jobs. Now Marcotte could obviously say that she is solely attacking the leadership of the catholic church but that would be a bald faced lie. Her characterization of the sticky hot white holy spirit is an affront against all Christians; especially Catholics. The part of the country that elitist liberals regard with sticky white hot condescension.
I do revel in the fact that Marcotte has been outed for the hate filled bigot that she is. Her rants have put all nutroots on display; a true queen in a land of listless anti-religious bigots. It is about time that some people started pushing back by exposing the hypocrisy.
To put into perspective how low Marcotte is all we have to do is turn to the forgiving mainstream media and see how they are beginning to distance themselves from her.
Terry Moran leads the pack with a very good writeup on Marcotte.
A bit of a tempest is brewing over the strident and profanity-laced writings of John Edwards’ official campaign “blogmaster,” Amanda Marcotte. She joined the Edwards campaign last week, and she’s already gotten a lot of attention.
At issue are Marcotte’s comments on her own blog, Pandagon, which has staked out a prominent place in the left-wing blogosphere. It’s pretty strong stuff; her comments about other people’s faiths could well be construed as hate speech.
This is just the intro and it nails it from the get go. Moran iterated many examples of such bigotry all of which you can read here.
Since then the story has been picked up by the New York Times.
Little Green Footballs notes that the blogmasters at Pandagon have deleted many of the profanity laced attacks she has penned over time. This is another example of the stupidity of Marcotte. Those articles have been cached by the Way Back Machine and are readily available to anyone searching for them.
So chalk this one up as another adventure into the minds eye of the Democrat party base. They may think the are so damn smart but we know otherwise. In reality people like Marcotte and those who associate themselves with them are no better than the people they trash everyday. In my book they are much worse.
Here’s to you Amanda Marcotte; a toast to your just deserves.
Update I: Amanda Marcotte has been fired……
So now, the story is breaking at Salon.com that Sen. John Edwards has fired one or both (at this moment it is not clear) of his campaign blogmasters, because…well frankly because Edwards or his handlers did a lousy job of vetting the bloggers to determine whether their sentiments were in full alignment with the candidate’s views. Make no mistake, for all that Salon is writing this as “the right wing blogosphere collecting scalps” this firing is not the fault of “right wing nutjobs” who demanded it (I, btw, hoped they would not be fired, as I wrote here).
No, this firing – if it has occurred, there is some question on that score – has occurred because it was a sloppy hiring to start. John Edwards can only blame himself.
That won’t stop the left from carrying on about how these bloggers are being crucified and silenced, blah, blah, blah. They’re not, of course. They’re still perfectly free to blog – they can still say any damn thing they want to. And, they’ve just become that much more famous. They’ll go on television to talk about how oppressed they are. Maybe they’ll write books or plays about being silenced, and they’ll never catch the irony that they’re talking, talking, talking about being “silenced” in George W. Bush’s America. – The Anchoress
Update II:
Sister Toldjah makes a great point by noticing how the left is reacting to the Marcotte event:
It’s been amusing to watch the various lefty bloggers today foaming at the mouth in outrage over this issue, and some of course are trying to do some digging on righty bloggers who work for politicians instead of acknowledging that the bloggers the Edwards’ campaign hired represent the worst of what the blogosphere has to offer. It’s obvious what the outrage, lack of condemnation of the bloggers, and attempts at moral relativism on the part of lefty bloggers is all about: they’re not outraged over what was said at the blogs in question because they don’t think anything was wrong with it, and even if there was something wrong with it, dammit, they have the right to free speech!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is exactly right. The left has been doing the Marcotte style of attack for so long that they fail to comprehend why there is no room for them in mainstream politics; not even on the left side. Instead they look to blame the right. I have no doubt that they will eventually whip out some far right comment and try to connect it to any republican that may have clicked on the bloggers page. That’s fine if they want to play that game. I have it on good authority that the party of diversity and tolerance has a blogging base that has much to be ashamed of.

As usual, Protein Wisdom captures the nutroot reaction with a perfectly worded chunk of satire.

Reporter: Well, yes I did, Tom. Let me explain why. As I get my cameraman to pan over this way, you’ll see that there’s a laundry basket that’s been turned into a makeshift shrine for the Pwn3dagon 2. Netroots supporters from all over the country are arriving here to express their support for these women. They’ve been lighting candles and singing, and having drum circles and such.

As I mentioned briefly in my last post, the mega-watt hot issue the last couple of days in the blogosphere has been the story about two popular left-wing bloggers that the John Edwards campaign hired as his ‘official bloggers.’ Several we…
