Washington Post – ABC Poll Sends Trumped Up NSA Spy Story Packing

Hearing Dick Durbin, Pat Leahy, Ted Kennedy, Chuck Schumer and Lindsey Graham make fools of themselves on a false NSA spy story; a Dime a Dozen
Seeing their bloviating rhetoric being refuted in a Washington Post – ABC Poll; Priceless.
The left is on a collision course with their own flatulent rhetoric as Americans appear to refute the false NSA spy story that was being peddled to the world yesterday.
63 percent of Americans said they found the NSA program to be an acceptable way to investigate terrorism, including 44 percent who strongly endorsed the effort. Another 35 percent said the program was unacceptable, which included 24 percent who strongly objected to it.
A slightly larger majority–66 percent–said they would not be bothered if NSA collected records of personal calls they had made, the poll found.
You have to love it when the biggest non-story of the week collapses in on itself in less than 24 hours.
But that doesn’t stop the Washington Post from holding out a flicker of hope that they can make something of it.
A majority of Americans initially support a controversial National Security Agency program to collect information on telephone calls made in the United States in an effort to identify and investigate potential terrorist threats, according to a Washington Post-ABC News poll.
But wait. How many times have you seen the press make excuses for their own polls?
- The survey results reflect initial public reaction to the NSA program. Those views that could change or deepen as more details about the effort become known over the next few days.
- Margin of sampling error is five percentage points for the overall results. The practical difficulties of doing a survey in a single night represents another potential source of error.
Translated, the MSM will continue to try and prop up their faltering house of cards even if the face cards have been removed from the deck.
The hacks over at the Washington Post still continue to rehash the non-story of the USA Today story. This is amazing.
The key element to take away from this poll is in the following survey result.
According to the poll, 65 percent of those interviewed said it was more important to investigate potential terrorist threats “even if it intrudes on privacy.
This is bad news for the dems. They have tried to build a platform on the premise that Americans prefer the ACLU to the safety of this nation. The dems are wrong on all counts.
I suspect that the incessant rants from the left have put their own arguments under a microscope. Americans are waking up to the fact that the left has no leadership, no credibility and no plan.
Does this mean it is all rosy for the Republicans? Sorry to say, no. Republicans have abandoned their base. This makes them vulnerable despite the sorry state of the Democrat party. You have to fall pretty far from grace to reach such an anemic state. Time is not on our side and there is much that needs to be repaired on our own end.
But I am an optimist regardless of such matters. The lib in me sees a silver lining to all of this. The environmentalists can thank the MSM for replenishing the forests as declining sales decrease demand for paper. It is time to unchain yourselves from those trees.
