Video: CCN Anchor Rosemary Church takes on Israeli Spokeswoman

For some reason the posers over at the Huffington Post think Rosemary Church displays hard edged journalism as she jousts with Israeli Spokeswoman Miri Eisen.

I, on the other hand see it for what it is. Rosemary Church displays an incredible amount of bias and shoddy reporting as she puts the entire blame for Qana on Israel and suggests that Israel respond solely with patriot missiles rather than remove Hezbollah’s ability to fire rockets over the Lebanese border.

Watch the video and see the excerpts below to get a true understanding of why people view the MSM with such disdain and disbelief.

Church: Hezbollah Rockets are no Threat to Israel, minimal impact

Church: But they are crude rockets aren’t they, and after all their impact has been minimal compared to the impact of Israeli strikes on Lebanon. Explain something to us. Why would you not try to be shooting these missiles, these katyusha missiles, or rockets we should say, they are not missiles at all, they’re rockets. Why would Israel not be trying to shoot them out of the sky? They have the capability to do that.

Church has tipped her audience off as to how little homework she did before conducting this interview. Israel actually already enabled patriot missile defenses on June 15th in an asessment of the Syrian/Hezbollah threat. But they are limited as a defense against so many incoming rockets.

The fact of the matter is that patriot missile defenses can’t stop all of the 1700 plus rockets that have been thrown Israel’s way no matter how much Church would wish you to believe that they could.

But how dare they not try anyway!? Besides, what’s a couple of katyusha rockets between friends, eh?

This was just the beginning for Church who apparently forgot that professional journalists are required to research their questions and gather more than unsubstantiated charges rather than going off on an emotionally charged glib tirade.

Church: Hezbollah not firing rockets from Qana

Eisen: Hezbollah has been firing rockets not only from the town of Qana right next to that building, from all of that area for the last two and a half weeks,

Church: So who’s saying that’s not so though? What proof do you have that that is the case because other observers have suggested that that isn’t the case?

Church : IDF is Having No Impact on Hezbollah, Israel Deliberately Targeted Civillians

Church: Why was this building targeted?

Eisen: The building was not targeted.

Church: You did not target this building even though you have guided missiles the building was not targeted!

Eisen: The building itself was not targeted as I said. The building itself was next to the rocket launcher sites and we are targeting all of those rocket launcher sites. This was a mistake, Israel deeply regrets this and we will have a full investigation. As I said, we are greatly saddened by the death of civilians while Hezbollah is firing into our civilian population and targeting Israelis all over northern Israel.

Church: But what impact are you having? There’s no evidence that you are having any impact on Hezbollah in any way. They keep firing their weaponry which is no where of the same caliber as that of the Israeli army. How do you explain that? All of these women and children, all these civilians killed and yet very little impact it seems on Hezbollah at all.

As Tony Snow said, thanks for the Hezbollah view.

Update: I fixed a typo and the word “itself” that was missing from the transcript i.e. – The building itself was not targeted as I said.

More horse crap from the propaganda machine of the Israeli government and it’s followers. I understand the Israeli people have been persecuted for a 1,000 years BEFORE the Holocaust of WWII. I also understand there needs to be a State of Israel.

What I cannot condone is the way the Palestinians are treated (like rats in a cage) by Israel. Yes, Hezbollah bad, but can you blame them when they are treated worse than dogs. Not every Palestinian is a terrorist and they need their own state as well. Try building roads, infrastructure for them and see Hezbollah’s power go the way of the dodo bird.

The irony is the Israeli government’s behavior is not much different than the Germans in the early 30’s with regards to the “Jewish Ghettos”.
