U.S. defense technology stolen by spies

enigma.jpgA Pentagon report says theft of sensitive U.S. defense technology is up drastically. The foreign country culprits are mainly nations in the Asia-Pacific region. Modern-day spies are trying to get access to our military and other defense technology by using ‘phony business offers and computer hackers to target advanced U.S. technology including lasers, sensors, missiles and other systems.’

Which countries are America’s biggest threat, as it pertains to spying on our defense technology? China, Russia and Iran.

The Defense Security Service Counterintelligence Office recorded an annual jump of nearly 43 percent in the number of suspicious foreign contacts reported to U.S. authorities by defense contractors and other defense-related sources. …

“The majority of reported targeting originated from East Asia and the Pacific, which accounted for 31 percent of all reporting,” the Pentagon agency said in the report.

The Near East made up 23.1 percent of the targeting, followed by Eurasia at 19.3 percent and South Asia at 13.2 percent. Africa and the Western Hemisphere, not including the United States, accounted for 11.5 percent.

The report, entitled “Technology Collection Trends in the U.S. Defense Industry,” did not accuse specific countries of espionage. But U.S. officials have long identified China, Russia and Iran as the leading counterintelligence threats to the United States. (more)

Spies don’t have to be slick government agents in some far away land. They could be right here in the United States, in the local mosques or perhaps universities. University students probably wouldn’t notice and if they did, it would be politically incorrect to say anything about it. Neil Karia in Canada Free Press reports:

University and college campuses across Canada and the West were once free-thinking establishments where young minds could develop critical analysis skills without fear of reprisal. Today, these former bastions of knowledge have become infected by relentless propaganda and threats unleashed by radical Islamist elements, who attack and threaten women and non Muslims, while claiming to be the victims of racism and ‘Islamophobia’.

Mr. Karia gives several excellent examples, some personal experiences, and says, “These events are not isolated: they are the culmination of an organized campaign by Muslim students to dominate campus life in all aspects.”

The blame belongs primarily to Liberal policies on immigration and granting of student visas. [snip]

Clearly academic freedom has been stolen from Canadians by Islamists, with the support and connivance of Liberal immigration officials. Canadians may want to consider correlating foreign student intake with the needs of the marketplace and Canadian businesses, rather than catering to the shrill demands of radical Islamists bent on occupation.

It’s not just in universities, this type behavior is happening everywhere. Take U.S. Airways who removed six Muslim clerics from a Minneapolis-to-Phoenix flight. I believe the actions of these imams was planned for the publicity, but I have no proof. Accuracy in the Media says “Better Safe than Sorry“. As radio host Faye Hardin said, “if you’re going to act like hijackers, you will be treated like hijackers.” It took only a few minutes for the Muslim outrage to hit the airwaves and for some to start apologizing for ‘racial profiling’ and ‘Islamophobia’. Which this was NOT.
