U.S. Border Patrol Tips off Mexico to Minuteman Patrols

Mexico - No Turning Back?We learned yesterday that the U.S. government is spying on its own citizens and reporting on their findings to the Mexican government.

Sara Carter, a reporter with the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin, reports today that she found documentation on Mexican government websites that show higher ups in the United States Border Patrol have been tipping off the corrupt Mexican government as to the locations of the Minutemen along the border.

Many people have started to decipher the Mexican websites and more information is starting to roll in. The following statement is off the Minuteman HQ website via pipeline news.

In early Spring of 2005 the Mexican SER directed all U.S. based Mexican consulates to conduct surveillance on border activists including those involved in the Minuteman Project, to interact with all levels of the leadership of American institutions including law enforcement, and transmit that information back to the Fox government.

Whereas it was believed that this activity was only taking place in limited areas the documents make it clear that Mexican consulates have been active in a massive surveillance and information gathering program throughout the United States - in Arizona, California, Texas, Utah, New Mexico, Nevada, Illinois, Massachusetts and Tennessee, detailing the activities and identifying American citizens and border activist groups by name and reporting back to Mexican authorities.

Today we are learning that the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agency at the DHS is trying to spin their way out of this as reported by Michelle Malkin.

Today’s report by the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin, “U.S. tipping Mexico to Minuteman patrols,” is inaccurate. Border Patrol does not report activity by civilian, non-law enforcement groups to the Government of Mexico. During a detention of a legal or illegal immigrant that produces an allegation of improper treatment, Border Patrol reports the allegation and allows the appropriate consulate to interview the individual in custody.

However, the DHS statement was contradicted by a spokesperson for the U.S. Border Patrol that confirmed the accuracy of the Daily Bulletin report. The CBP is also contradicted by the Mexican Government’s Secretary of Foreign Relations website.

From all accounts it appears that the CBP is going into damage control now that the cat is out of the bag. The Bulletin is not being asked to retract its story,

Michael Savage interviewed Minuteman organizer Chris Simcox yesterday afternoon on this very issue. Click on this link to listen to part of that interview here.

This is an outrageous activity by our own government against the American people. Heads should roll and they will if I am correctly reading the pulse of other conservative bloggers out there.

Republican leaders had hoped this immigration thing would blow away but it will turn out to be their ultimate undoing. I will be taking this one with me to the polls and I am not alone. They are literally handing the next election to the democrats or another challenger.

If this country isn’t ready for a third party by now it will never be. It would be sad to throw away a vote to send a message but I am not so sure that a third party challenger can’t win in this climate; especially a pro-enforcement challenger who is going to stick by the people.
