Two Middle Eastern Men Arrested on Bomb Charges

scterRorists_1.jpg24 year old Ahmed Mohamed and 21 year old Yousef Megahed were arrested Saturday in South Carolina after being pulled over for speeding. The police, who found the men to be suspicious, searched the vehicle and found one ready to go bomb and other bomb making materials including igniters and fusers. The FBI was called in.

News 10 in Columbia, SC reports:

So far they have only been charged with possession of explosive devices, but the FBI is working to see if more crimes have been committed.

The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department tells WIS News 10 the two men are not US citizens.

Bomb squad technicians demolished an item found in the car at 2:45am Sunday. It made a loud bang, similar to a firecracker.

Authorities pulled over the car for speeding at around 6:00pm Saturday. Officers asked to search the vehicle, which WCBD reported to have Florida tags, and discovered the suspicious items located in the trunk.

Once federal agents were brought in and analyzed the situation, an FBI-controlled robot pulled a bag filled with the suspicious items from the vehicle.

Officials say the men did not show up on any terror suspect list, and authorities don’t think they posed a threat.[emphasis mine]

The last sentence makes me chuckle in a very nervous way. It does not give me comfort that the authorities have said that they didn’t think these men “posed a threat”. Let me clarify this; it is insane to assume that they do not pose a threat. The mere finding of “at least one ready made bomb” along with bomb making materials, complete with detonation devices makes them a threat.

The Berkeley Country Sheriff’s department will be holding a press conference this morning at 11:30.

What a stupid remark, of course this has to do with terrorism. Is the media trying to sugar-coat what seems obvious to most of us?

At times it seems like the media is the terrorists best ally. What a bunch of mopes.

Funny how the media never shies away from characterizing the U.S. military in the worst of light while they repeatedly soft peddle stories that involve radical middle easterners.

No surprise though. The only people dropping in credibility as fast as politicians is mainstream media reporters.
