Thompson In, Finally

I hope Fred Thompson is more decisive if it comes to running things than he was on when he would finally announce his candidacy. Finally that announcement came on Jay Leno’s Tonight Show last night:

I kind of agree with the reason he waited so long but I think it was just handled a little poorly.

Usually you don’t announce until after Labor Day, but they started running a lot earlier, spending millions of dollars and so forth, and everyone said that you couldn’t run this year without raising a hundred million dollars and starting much earlier. I don’t believe that”

But I have to complain about a small irritating thing I noticed about those running Thompson’s campaign. For some reason someone somewhere decided that it would be best to set up a YouTube page to make the announcement but didn’t allow for an embed on other websites. That is just plain dumb. I’m not sure if there is a legal reason but that seems a bit counterintuitive. Let the blogs spread the message!

Well he’s in anyway; it’s about time. We’ll see now if his numbers are just hope for somebody better or really about his charisma and name recognition.

You can watch his formal announcement here on his campaign website.

Good luck Fred, welcome to the party.
