The Left Comes To The Rescue Of Moonbat Hate Mongers

The moonbats came out in droves today; apparently upset that the Taliban missed their mark in the murder attempt against Vice President Dick Cheney. This wasn’t to be unexpected as we have had plenty of examples of this kind of behavior in the past.
What wasn’t expected however was the attempt by some of the more mainstream left wing pundits to come to the rescue of the hateful commentators that crawl around on some of the nation’s biggest liberal blogs. Get this twisted sense of logic. Some of the defenders such as Glenn Greenwald of Salon.com are suggesting that the “right wing pundits” are moronic for pointing out the vile hate filled anti-American comments by a good segment of the people that make up the power base of the American left.
The smoke had barely cleared from the suicide bombing in Afghanistan this morning, near a base where Dick Cheney was located, when right-wing pundits — whose sole expertise seems to be in exploiting terrorism-related issues for political gain — began their attempt to politically exploit the attack on or near Cheney. Seemingly in unison, they all went digging deep into the comment sections of various liberal blogs, found inappropriate and hateful comments, and then began insisting that these isolated comments proved something.
[snip]
But stray, anonymous comments prove nothing. And those who rely on them to make an argument — especially without bothering to make any effort to prove that they are reflective of anything — should be presumed to have no argument at all. That is why they are relying upon such transparently flimsy and mislea ding methods to make a point. And the same principle applies to journalists — those who write articles about “the blogosphere” by using random, stray comments (or mean emails they receive), by definition, have nothing to say, no point worth making.
This is by far one of the stupidest and most idiotic of statements I have seen in years. The hole in the argument can be found by reminding Greenwald of various points.
- The Left has been doing this for so long that this has become a pattern. Those on the right knew exactly what they’d find when they browsed the comment sections of the left’s flagship blogs.
- Which brings me to my second point. We are not talking about some wayward blog with only a couple of links. We are talking the biggest and thus most representational of the Democrat base; blogs that American Congressmen have diaries on; blogs that some of the countries biggest political financiers fund.
- The Huffington Post actually had to shut down its comment section to avoid further embarrassment by the anti-American hate mongers.
- The blogs in question rarely remove the comments as if leaving up hate speech is a badge of journalistic free speech. You know the left; never to judge their own!
- Most of all, the right wing blogs of the same stature repeatedly rise to the occasion by supporting Democrats in their times of need. Think Senator Tim Johnson.
Rather than attack the right for knowing immediately what the idiot hate mongers on the left will do perhaps Greenwald should direct his criticism toward the left wing hate mongers where it belongs. His defense is just one more example that the left is hopeless. Mainstream liberals, those who don’t teeter on the brink of anarchistic insanity, are held hostage by moonbat central. People like Greenwald make this point all the more valid by getting on his morally relativistic high horse and trying to redirect criticism to those on the right who rightfully point out how hate filled the American left really is.
Update: I didn’t want to belabor the point of the left’s misplaced comments about how the Taliban missed Cheney because it goes beyond this one incident as I have pointed out many times before.
The Following Examples Provide a Testament To This Fact:
- Blackfacing Lieberman/Blitzer: Quick, Spot the Racists
- Fallen Soldier Got What He Deserved: The Left Can Go No Lower – A Soldiers Nightmare
- Kossacks Wish For Hanging of Bush Instead of Hussein: Daily Kos (i.e. Democrat Party Base) Comes To The Rescue of Ramsey Clark
- Hater Amanda Marcotte As Edwards Blog Master: When Stupid People Blog
- Bush Derangement Syndrome, Anti-Semitic Attacks: More respect for the victims of 9/11, lefty style
- Fallen Soldiers Got What They Deserved (Recurring Theme): (Video) Libs Exploit 9/11 Video Footage and Fallen Soldiers in Attack Touting Bush Conspiracy
- Steve Irwin Got What He Deserved: Meet the Democrat Party Base, Daily Kos Vilifies Steve Irwin and Pres Bush in one Post
- Kerry/Conyers Blog on Kos Hater Blog: Kerry Apologizes Without Apologizing
I could go on but it gets depressing after a while.
Update 3-05-2007: I just saw on Wizbang that some on the left are swimming in their own self delusional fantasies with claims that “hate speech” on the Right comes from its prominent representatives (as if Ann Coulter speaks for everyone), while to find hate speech on the Left it is necessary to dig into anonymous blog comments by trolls. While this article here specifically deals with the people who comment on left wing websites many of them are hardly anonymous. However Paterrico responded to the left’s claims with a list of prominent left wing figures and examples of their hate speech.
