While listening to Laura Ingraham’s show yesterday morning she touched base on something that I’m sure has crossed a lot of American’s minds. Are there terrorist training camps within the United States and if so where? Well, sadly and allegedly, we need not look any further than Islamberg, New York or Holy Islamville in South Carolina, just to name two of what appears to be quite a few. Pakistani cleric Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani, a known terrorist, is the founder of these camps and apparently others as well. Laura’s guest was Paul Williams, he wrote an article in the Canadian Free Press on this subject.

I couldn’t make this stuff up if I wanted to. A quick search reveals that these “paramilitary compounds” even have their own websites. Bloggers have apparently been blogging on this forever yet somehow the story has managed to escape the “reporters” in the mainstream media. Did they not think this was important?

All Things Beautiful has documented this as far back as February, 2006:

A covert visit to an encampment in the Catskill Mountains near Hancock, N.Y., called “Islamberg” found neighboring residents deeply concerned about military-style training taking place there but frustrated by the lack of attention from federal authorities, said the report by the Northeast Intelligence Network, which worked with a blogger, “The Politics of CP,” to publish an interim report. “We don’t even dare to slow down when we drive by,” the resident said. “They own this mountain and they know it, and there is nothing we can do about it but move, and we can’t even do that. Who wants to buy property next to that?”[snip]

Isn’t it nice to know that Democrats are scaring less knowledgeable people with unfounded fears about the Patriot Act while terrorists use that knowledge to plan our demise right under their noses?

One of the residents nearby Islamberg claimed:

“These people need to be investigated,” a resident said. “They are training for war, either for war here in this country or against our troops. Who in the h— is allowing this stuff to happen right here in our own backyard, and why?”

Good question.

But it gets worse. Paul Williams reports in his article that these people have access to all sorts of confidential information including the addresses and financial records of people the government is supposed to protect.

. . . It is home to hundreds - - all in Islamic attire, and all African-Americans. Most drive late model SUVs with license plates from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, South Carolina, and Tennessee. The locals say that some work as tollbooth operators for the New York State Thruway, while others are employed at a credit card processing center that maintains confidential financial records.

Financial records? Are you kidding me? I’m not sure how to even respond this.

Another quote from his article is:

The complex serves to scare the bejeesus out of the local residents. “If you go there, you better wear body armor,” a customer at the Circle E Diner in Hancock said. “They have armed guards and if they shoot you, nobody will find your body.”

At Cousins, a watering hole in nearby Deposit, a barfly, who didn’t wish to be identified, said: “The place is dangerous. You can hear gunfire up there. I can’t understand why the FBI won’t shut it down.”

Islamberg is a branch of Muslims of the Americas Inc., a tax-exempt organization formed in 1980 by Pakistani cleric Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani, who refers to himself as “the sixth Sultan Ul Faqr,” Gilani, has been directly linked by court documents to Jamaat ul-Fuqra or “community of the impoverished,” an organization that seeks to “purify” Islam through violence.

Armed guards? Where are all the gun grabbers for these guys? How about the fact that it is a tax exempt organization? That’s right, this is all the rage, if you have a “paramilitary compound” you might as well do it at your enemies’ expense. Why not?

Though primarily based in Lahore, Pakistan, Jamaat ul-Fuqra has operational headquarters in New York and openly recruits through various social service organizations in the U.S., including the prison system. Members live in hamaats or compounds, such as Islamberg, where they agree to abide by the laws of Jamaat ul-Fuqra, which are considered to be above local, state and federal authority. Additional hamaats have been established in Hyattsville, Maryland; Red House, Virginia; Falls Church, Virginia; Macon, Georgia; York, South Carolina; Dover, Tennessee; Buena Vista, Colorado; Talihina, Oklahoma; Tulare Country, California; Commerce, California; and Onalaska, Washington. Others are being built, including an expansive facility in Sherman, Pennsylvania.

Before becoming a citizen of Islamberg or any of the other Fuqra compounds, the recruits - - primarily inner city black men who became converts in prison - - are compelled to sign an oath that reads: “I shall always hear and obey, and whenever given the command, I shall readily fight for Allah’s sake.” [emphasis mine]

In addition to this, an update has been added. Scott, a blogger who has been on this story has been receiving threatening phone calls. This is a must read.

Where is Janet Reno when we need her? This is the stuff that movies are made of.
