Stop the Presses: McCain Learns a Lesson About the NY Times

Back in the day, 2000 that is, when Sen. John McCain was basking in the glow of praise from his erstwhile media friends, he never had a problem with the New York Times. In fact, it was a mere 8 months ago that this hideous liberal tendentious rag actually endorsed McCain, saying
“Senator John McCain of Arizona is the only Republican who promises to end the George Bush style of governing from and on behalf of a small, angry fringe,” the paper’s editorial board wrote.
“With a record of working across the aisle to develop sound bipartisan legislation, he would offer a choice to a broader range of Americans than the rest of the Republican field.”
Now the McCain campaign has discovered that the New York Times is in the tank for Mr. Not Ready for Prime Time. Really? You guys are just noticing this fact?
Hey, guess what? We found out who killed Abe Lincoln. It was in all the papers, even the New York Times.
I suspect the NY Times editorial board would write a different endorsement today; nevertheless, there’s an important take-home message for us all, which is, don’t waste time and effort trying to make liberals love you. At best, they will barely tolerate you, and that won’t happen often. Usually, they will despise you, no matter how many cookies you bake for them or how many times you endure the emotionally-driven foolishness that they spout, desperately hoping to find one minute kernel of anything resembling common sense so you can agree with at least one thing they say to show what a nice, reasonable person you are. That makes as much sense as Barack Hussein Obama’s idea that we try to make nice with guys like that little troll from Iran, who I note is speaking at the U.N. today.
Press reports say that Ahmanidinejad wants the U.N. out of the U.S. Sure, because we all know how the U.N. always agrees with the United States.
For once, I agree with the deformed little dwarf from Iran. In fact, I’ll go a step further. Let’s not only get the U.N. out of the U.S. Let’s get the U.S., along with our cash, out of the U.N.
To paraphrase Barack Hussein Obama, we are spending over $400 billion a year on this outfit, which at best, is a glorified debating society and at worst a forum for America-hating wack jobs to get on their soapboxes and denounce our country. Think how much health care we could buy with all that money, right, Barry?
