San Francisco Assemblyman, City Supervisors Condemn Evangelical Christians

San Francisco Assemblyman Mark Leno, D-San Francisco, had strong words for some 25,000 teenage Evangelical Christians who attended The Battle Cry For A Generation
concert over the weekend. Get Out
.
The event was held to encourage evangelical Christian youth to speak out against the glorification of sex and drugs that is so pervasive in pop culture today.
Who could have imagined that evangelical Christians might want to promote Bible-based solutions for the spread of sexually transmitted disease, teen pregnancy, drug abuse and suicide? How dare they! What was the city thinking when they issued them a permit for such behavior?
Leno addressed a small group of 50 protestors at City Hall who opposed the event, he said “They’re loud, they’re obnoxious, they’re disgusting, and they should get out of San Francisco.” - SFGate, read here and here

Mark Leno’s Anti-Christian Constituency
The anti-Christian protest was attended by abortion rights activists, self proclaimed anarchists and leaders of International Answer, Code Pink and “Not in our Name”, the group that was founded by the Revolutionary Communist Party. No surprise there.
Leno, as a representative of the city of diversity and tolerance, was out promoting the city’s own anti-Christian message. Earlier this week, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors passed a resolution condemning the “act of provocation” by what it termed an “anti-gay,” “anti-choice” organization that aimed to “negatively influence the politics of America’s most tolerant and progressive city.”
Hmmm, let me see if I can find the message of tolerance in the phrase “get out” and an official condemnation from the city toward a peaceful religious group.
Isn’t it funny what the city chooses to condemn and ignore? I can’t seem to find any official condemnation or counter protest from Leno or his pathetic Board of Supervisor buddies in response to the violent anti-G8 protest that was lead by many of the same groups Leno was speaking to over the weekend. The same sick protest that saw attacks on policemen, fires and broken windows in the financial district. (But thanks for the reminder)
Apparently free speech, religious faith and anti-drug messages have now been branded as negative influences by the left. Thanks for the clarification. I can’t wait for the upcoming bible burning resolution.
Big mouth politicians and incessant “condemnations” from representatives of the Democratic Party are a good thing in my Molly Ivins maligned opinion. The dark realities of the democrat base are exactly what the American public needs to see front and center. What better way to fill the void left by Reid, Schumer, Durbin and Pelosi?
