Even though I am a Democrat, I do agree, the Bush-Bashing session are difficult to swallow. I often find myself shaking my head at the rampant knee jerk “>> Sucks!” comments. It holds us back from compromise and understanding.

Yeah, I used to be quite liberally minded at one time. I will tell the story of what turned me some day soon.

On the music front I used to travel with bands for years as a sound man. I went to a very liberal school and studied music engineering and computer science. After school I continued working in both industries but the band travel was too hard to do with kids.

Concerts and photography are a refuge. I love the music and wouldn’t be able to turn on the radio if I didn’t somehow manage to separate the message from the music. Most bands don’t turn their concerts into political rallies. I will eventually get over this concert but it will be hard not to think about it when I hear the music.

I sometimes get overly defensive in tone on the political discussion front. But over time I have found that defensive jabs merely serve to shut down an exchange of ideas. It’s much better to discuss and agree to disagree. Not that always easy, but better!

On an unrelated note, Thank you for welcoming me back in your previous responses. Even though we have different views, you have remained civil throughout our discussions and I completely respect that.
