Ralph Nader Asks the FCC To Investigate Radio Talk Show Hosts For Capitalist Leanings

Tiring doesn’t begin to describe the rants and raves of anti-capitalist politicians and political wannabes. A typical rite of passage for socialists and left leaning advocates of nanny state politics is that which tries to censor and silence the free speech rights of conservative radio talk show hosts. Today we bring you Ralph Nader, foe of Detroit’s big three automakers, newly partnered with disgraced former Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney and all around favorite of the anti-Bush green party faithful.
(CNSNews.com) - Consumer advocate and occasional presidential candidate Ralph Nader is asking the Federal Communications Commission to investigate certain radio show hosts — including Rush Limbaugh — who are taking part in a General Motors promotion.
Nader pointed to a report in Automotive News, which said GM is “wooing radio stars” — lending them new vehicles to drive, inviting them to Detroit for private meetings with executives, and giving them VIP tours of GM plants.
In return, the report said, Rush Limbaugh and others are using their microphones to promote GM vehicles. The report quoted Limbaugh as gushing over GM cars — saying they’ve “never been better” and urging his listeners to “believe in General Motors.”
Nader said Limbaugh and other broadcasters involved in the GM promotion may be violating sponsorship identification rules, which require broadcasters to tell their listeners when they are plugging products in exchange for money, services or “other consideration.”
Such disclosures must be made in advance of the broadcast, Nader said.
“In any event, the FCC needs to investigate,” Nader insisted. (src. CNS News, Radio Talk Show Hosts Slapped for Plugging GM Vehicles)
Oh dear, radio talk show hosts meet with executives of companies that sponsor them. Quick, call the capitalism police! We must put a stop to this blatant display of profit making activities! Meanwhile liberal talk show hosts at Air America are pretty much are given a pass when their corporate sponsors steal from poor inner city kids.
I wouldn’t call it so much of a slapping as I would a self serving promotion for a potential presidential candidate that is contemplating running on a Green Party sponsored Nader-McKinney ticket.
Nader knows full and well how the media reacts to attacks on conservative talk radio hosts. They only need level a charge and the press is ready to suck up the often malicious and mainly unsubstantiated claims like drooling journalistic versions of Pavlov’s dog. The CNS report even notes that Limbaugh has often mentioned his sponsorship by GM on the radio show yet Nader operates undeterred.
Nonetheless we can expect someone somewhere to join on the bandwagon. I fully expect the radio hosts to take a page out of Michael Savage’s book and push back against these deceitful attacks. That is the only way to relegate these people to the dustbin of political has beens and move our nation forward where free speech is no longer threatened by leftist opportunists who don’t like to answer to dissenting points of view.

NFL Pre-season week #2…
Today I’m just going to give the teams, my picks, and a little bit of silliness. Hey, it’s Friday! Give me a break, I can use it. lol. This is a new site that I found, so please bear with me. It looks like there was a game played last night betwe ……
I’m glad you said the sponsor word? That maybe a little deep for him. Nader has looooong been around the bend. I’m surprised anyone even prints his ravings. Yes Ralph, run on the Green ticket. Go get ‘em. At least all the mob will be in one place. Why don’t you get PETA too. Maybe you can go with them when they go back to tell the terrorist’s again how to treat their animals. I’m sure the terrorist have already taken their advise and the animals are just fine.
I think that the whole idea of sponsor’s is to say things about their product’s on the show. That way their bills get paid.
I know Ralph doesn’t deserve any air time or written space but what would we do on slow news days? So Ralph keep up what ever it is your doing???? At least it keeps him busy.
