According to “a prominent UK Islamist leader” who just happens to have connections to terrorist organizations, the attacks in Scotland and London were “completely justified.” Why? Because of “the continued British and American occupation of Muslim land in Iraq and Afghanistan, support for criminal Israel, and draconian measures taken against Muslims in the UK,” blah blah blah. Why is this man, Anjem Choundary still breathing, still free, still inciting terror? Using the excuse of ‘occupied Muslim land’ for every vile form of terror is really getting old.

[Anjem] Choudary currently presents himself as an Islamic lecturer and a leader of Britain’s Shariah Islamic court. He is a founder and former chief of Al Muhajiroun, a British group that sought to impose an Islamic state on the UK and that was allied with the goals of al-Qaida.

Al Muhajiroun, officially disbanded by the British government citing antiterrorism laws in 2004, and its main leader, Omar Bakri Muhammad, were banned from the UK in 2005. Choudary then became a leader of Al Ghurabaa, which was reportedly a continuation of Al Muhajiroun. Al Ghurabaa was banned in 2006 by the UK for reportedly supporting terrorism.

Former Al Muhajiroun members led by Choudary reportedly continue their activism at public protests and on Internet forums under a new banner group called Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah. (WND)

There is much the United States could do to defuse the problem, and a good place to start would be by removing land-based U.S. forces from the Persian Gulf.

There are reports that US counterterrorism authorities fear a major campaign in Europe, or possibly even 9/11-scale mega-attack in America, sometime this year. However, US officials are publicly denying these claims.

DEBKAfile counter-terror sources report that ten days ago, the US gave the Czech government specific warning of large-scale al Qaeda terrorist attacks in Prague, targeting government buildings, the US embassy, American firms and Jewish and Israel locations in the Czech capital. All American missions and military facilities in Europe were placed on alert.

France, Germany, Italy, Denmark and Spain have also tightened their anti-terror precautions. (more)

The next terrorist assault on the United States is likely to come through relatively unsophisticated, near-simultaneous attacks — similar to those attempted in Britain over the weekend — designed more to provoke widespread fear and panic than to cause major losses of life, U.S. intelligence and counterterrorism officials believe.

Such attacks require minimal expertise and training and are difficult to prevent. [snip]

The incidents in England and Scotland, counterterrorism officials said, coincide with recent U.S. intelligence indicating stepped-up movement of money and people from al-Qaeda camps in the ungoverned tribal areas of Pakistan, near the Afghan border. [snip]

Terror cell used hospital as cover – Inconceivable!

First for all, to all who say Al Qaeda is no threat, think again. But a more disturbing element to me is that they used their status as doctors to hide in plain site. Not only is this a betrayal of them begin doctors, but it is a disturbing thought on its face. Should we now look with distrust at our own hospitals? (Learning Straight Up)

If al-Qaeda wanted to throw off our ‘profile’ of what a terrorist looks like, they were successful in Glasgow and London this week. Gone should be any vision the nay-sayers have of underprivileged, poor, mistreated youth. Enter the highly educated, professional, well-to-do individuals willing to give it all up for Allah. One thing still remains the same… they are all Muslim.
