President Nancy Pelosi – Stay Home on November 7 and It Just Might Happen

If you think this is a far fetched possibility you had better think again. There is a reason why Nancy Pelosi has been hiding for the last couple of weeks. It would be a mistake for Democrats to remind American’s that the number three person in line for the Presidency could be the far left Democrat from the state of California.

Those who think that #3 is plenty of padding are sadly mistaken. The Democrats already have the ball rolling should they win both the House and the Senate in November. The assumed plan is simple. Win the House, win the Senate, impeach both President Bush and Vice President Cheney and put the Speaker of the House in charge of the country.

The wheels are already in motion in the form of two House Bill’s introduced by Rep. John Conyers. This is the same John Conyers who has a diary on the hateful moonbat Daily Kos website.

Why is the lefty Daily Kos site important?

Put aside the fact that a United States Congressman has a personal diary on a discriminatory religious bashing web site whose language would border on hate crimes if they were directed against gays, minorities or illegal immigrants. Put aside the fact that a United States Congressman shares space on a blog along side the oft repeated Bushitler comparison, Pope Benedict the Nazi and people who call the honorable men and women serving in the United States military mass murderers. Keep that in the back of your head while you navigate straight to John Conyers’ case for impeaching the President.

Before sharing some thoughts with you, I wanted to make sure all of you know about an important event in New York City at 8pm tonight. Harper’s Magazine is hosting a public forum entitled “Is There a Case for Impeachment?” It will be moderated by Sam Seder of Air America Radio’s the Majority Report. I will be on the panel with Lewis H. Lapham, the editor of Harper’s and recent author of an article I highly recommend “The Case for Impeachment” (the web article is an excerpt, get the magazine for the whole thing).

We will be joined by Michael Ratner, the President of the Center for Constitutional Rights; my former House Judiciary colleague who served with me during the impeachment of President Nixon, Liz Holtzman; and John Dean, a renowed legal scholar and former White House counselor to President Nixon.

This is just the intro to the Conyers Daily Kos diary entry. He proceeds to lay out his reasons for the looming movement to impeach President Bush by comparing alleged lies and abuses of power by the Bush administration to events that libs love to hate and repeat such as the Iran Contra affair.

There are few roles in our constitutional government that are more frustrating than being a member of the minority party during a period of one party control of the government. However, at a time when the majority party in general - and the president in particular - appears to be acting in open violation of the laws and the constitution, there are few jobs which are more important to the future of our democratic form of government.

People think of Watergate, or Iran Contra as constituting crises. They were in the sense that an executive branch was acting in violation of the law, and in tension with the majority party in the congress. But in the end, the system worked, the abuses were investigated, and actions were taken - even if presidential pardons ultimately prevented a full measure of justice.

Today, the crisis is substantively and systemically far worse. The alleged acts of wrongdoing - lying about the decision to go to war; manipulation of intelligence; facilitating and countenancing torture; using confidential information to out a CIA agent; open and flagrant violations of federal wiretap laws - are far more egregious than any I have witnessed in my 41 years in Congress.

This passage lays out some important players in the grand scheme, reminds us about the lies behind the Democrat rhetoric and speaks the one truth that all Democrats share in being frustrated as part of a perpetual minority party.

The rest of the article provides the roadmap of “evidence” that the Democrats have been gathering to establish a Congressional record of abuse by the Bush administration.

Fast forward to December of 2005 and read the text of House Bills H. RES. 635, 636 and 637.

H. RES. 635 marks the beginning of the impeachment process.

Creating a select committee to investigate the Administration’s intent to go to war before congressional authorization, manipulation of pre-war intelligence, encouraging and countenancing torture, retaliating against critics, and to make recommendations regarding grounds for possible impeachment.

This bill has 37 cosponsors.

H. RES. 636 calls for censure based on much of the same evidence as mentioned in the Daily Kos article. It has 18 cosponsors.

The lesser known H. RES 637 calls for the censure of President Cheney. This Bill has 19 cosponsors.

Make no mistake about it; this plan is already in place and the Democrats are aiming to take down the whole administration starting with Bush and Cheney. If successful that would leave number 3 in line to take over.

Remember that if you plan to stay home on November 7. The price may be President Nancy Pelosi.

Update Thought: Can the Dems really pull something like this off? I doubt they could get the votes necessary in the Senate to have both of them, let alone one of them removed from office.

However they will certainly move to impeach if they have the votes. Worse, we are looking at Supreme Court vacancies, eroding support in the War against Terror and rollbacks of tax cuts that helped boost the Dow to a record high. This is just for starters. Democrat rule would be disastrous for this nation IMHO.

  1. [...] I pointed the following out in a previous post. It speaks to the hypocrisy of the Democrat leaders when it comes to guilt by association. In this case the fact that U.S. Congressmen have diaries on the Daily Kos despite the fact that hate speech can be found all over the site. Put aside the fact that a United States Congressman has a personal diary on a discriminatory religious bashing web site whose language would border on hate crimes if they were directed against gays, minorities or illegal immigrants.
