Obama’s Aunt: Illegal Immigrant, Campaign Donor, Public Aid

The AP has learned that Barack Obama’s Aunt Zeituni Onyango is actually an Illegal alien fugitive. She was ordered to be deported 4 years ago. Instead of leaving the country she found a way to live in a housing project on the south side of Boston, receives public aid and is also a contributor to the Obama campaign! For all you lefties that means that she is breaking the law repeatedly. It is a federal offense for a foreign national to donate to Obama’s campaign.

WASHINGTON – Barack Obama’s aunt, a Kenyan woman who has been quietly living in public housing in Boston, is in the United States illegally after an immigration judge rejected her request for asylum four years ago, The Associated Press has learned.

Zeituni Onyango (zay-TUHN on-YANG-oh), referred to as “Aunti Zeituni” in Obama’s memoir, was instructed to leave the United States by a U.S. immigration judge who denied her asylum request, a person familiar with the matter told the AP late Friday. This person spoke on condition of anonymity because no one was authorized to discuss Onyango’s case.

Information about the deportation case was disclosed and confirmed by two separate sources, one of them a federal law enforcement official. The information they made available is known to officials in the federal government, but the AP could not establish whether anyone at a political level in the Bush administration or in the McCain campaign had been involved in its release.

The press was so happy to report on her once they found out about her.

In a profile on the Experience Corps website, Onyango is described as a “former computer systems coordinator” who says she wanted to volunteer in the schools because “I felt that I should help the children in my community.”

Isn’t that a wonderful story? They also gleefully reported how she donated to the Obama campaign.

Federal Election Commission records show that Onyango donated at least five times to her nephew’s campaign in July and September. Three of the donations were for $5 each, and two of the donations were for $25. Records compiled by The Huffington Post show she gave a total of $260 to the campaign.

So it appears that the Obama campaign happily accepted the donations. Which is no surprise since we already know they set the system up to allow for fraudulent and illegal donations.

The left’s savior: a liar, a Marxist, recipient of sweetheart land deals for personal gain from a then indicted and now convicted political influence peddler, supported of Illegal Immigration and willing to accept donations from illegal aliens and foreign nationals.

CHARACTER COUNTS

Are you still an advocate of early voting? We know why the left is and this is more proof. Get all the votes in before the campaign is finished just in case an illegal alien relative pops up after defying a U.S. court order to leave the country. Your tax dollars at work and Obama wants more.

I’m still waiting for her to get the Joe the Plumber treatment; not holding breath. Can’t wait to see how this is spun as some sort of positive. Just wait.

As I pointed out in a post at my blog this morning, this news raises several questions, including:

    * Will “Aunt Zeituni” be deported immediately?
    * Will she be or jailed for a time until she can be deported?
    * Will she receive aide from her nephew, the Democratic Party presidential nominee — perhaps in the form of a legal storm that attempts to delay her deportation until after inauguration day when, he hopes, he’ll be able to grant her asylum request?

    * Will she reveal information about the birth of her nephew in Kenya in exchange for a reversal of the ruling that denied her asylum request?

Though it’s a day late to qualify as an October Surprise, I hope John McCain can make “hay” out of it — and soon!

    Hi Bob,

The likely scenario I envision is that my taxes will go up so Obama can build her a new flat. After that she will likely get a position in some govt. sanctioned job, perhaps leading the govt’s attempts to prevent fraud or possibly overseeing the enforcement of Illegal Immigration.

As, an independent who has voted Republican and Democrat; I can only share that the Republican Party that I was accustomed too gave this election away. I have listened, read, and watched how we have departed from intellectual discourse in favor of surface criticisms. No one man or women should be defined by their relatives. I have a cousin lost to drugs, a brother rehabilitated from crime, a mother with a PhD, a father with 9 children that he raised well, and several other siblings of sound stature.

His aunt- so what! Let the process work. Clinton’s brother was a loss, Rush Limbaugh a drug addict, Bush Jr. a NG vietnam avoider. Again so what! Cliton’s shortcomings as President had nothing to do with his family. Rush has many good qualities despite his pain medication issues, and Bush Jr. did what he thought was best for him at the time.

When running for public office why can’t the collective we just accept that both McCain and Obama have sacrificed a lot for the priviledge of running for office. For me Bush Jr. was a disappointment, but I believe that he meant well, but made some poor choices (his presidency was a disappointment, but I believe he cared for this country). McCain cares for this country deeply and has lived his convictions for the most part. Obama loves this country and I don’t think he’s as scary as everyone thinks. I disagree with him on a lot of issues, but this round he’s getting my vote, because McCain for whatever reason is not the same guy that I supported in 00 and 04 for the party nomination. The sad thing…. is that if Palin had been herself and McCain had remained himself they would have attracted more of the mainstream of America. I like my conservative values (anti-abortion, anti-gay marriage, anti-excessive taxation); however I acknowledge that Fundamentalism is Fundamentaly bad. Liberals are not my enemy, they are my opponents. They have some good ideas and some bad. Unfortunately, this time my Republican colleagues have alienated me by spending most of their time talking about someone’s preacher, family, faith, and associations. Bill Ayers- so what he’s walking free and still a citizen (if he is a terrorist, put up or shut up) send him to Gitmo with the rest, otherwise stop the rhetoric. Rev. Wright- so what he has a different American life experience than most (same as the indians, the Japenese citizens put in concentration camps during WWII, and the present day Muslim citizens that are living among us). If Obama is so shady- prosecute him. And for the Liberals- Palin isn’t dumb. She may not have a sophisticated world view, but that’s far from being an airhead. At least she lives her convictions, which is more than what I have seen most do!

All these junk news about Obama are pure racist , Just some people cannot accept a black president that is all. I cannot believe that there are some Americans wasting their times on these junk news. What he can do for a Half Aunt’s action that he never meet?
The real question is Palin(and I’m not talking about her half Aunt etc), she still didn’t release her medical report what she promised. It seems like she is hiding something big ,such as Trig is her grandson etc
In her short Governer Job she committed more crimes than Obama’s Aunt. When a candidate is in full of mess with her crimes/actions we are talking about a Candidate’s half Aunt being immigrant?
Who can tell their Ancestors were not illegal Immigrants in tis country once?

  5. on 02 Nov 2008 at 11:56 am Terry Trippany

Are you kidding me? If you think your charges of racism will deter me from questioning Barack Obama you are sadly mistaken. For you it may be about race but that merely underscores your own race baiting hypocrisy.

Yeah, Trig is Palin’s grandson even though he was born while her daughter is currently pregnant. That is some medical miracle.

Obama never met his Aunt? His Aunt attended Obama’s Senate swearing in ceremony in 2005. Sorry that “your facts” contradict the truth of the matter.

While you are at it why don’t you ask the Obama campaign to release his records from Columbia?

If you have something intelligent to add to this site I would be glad to hear it otherwise you are just acting like the media by ignoring serious questions that Americans have about Barack Obama that has nothing to do with race.

    Hi Jonathan,

Nothing you stated here is a reason to vote for Obama. In fact I am not sure I can find any reason why you would.

You say you are anti-abortion, anti-gay marriage and anti-excessive taxation, all of which Obama actually has a record contrary to your position. In fact it is the only real record that Obama has.

As for not hanging Obama for his relatives I could agree except for the fact that it was Obama and not the media that brought his Aunt into the American consciousness by writing about her in his book. Contrast that to Palin’s son Trig and it was the media that made an issue out of him.

I have also yet to see any indication that Barack Obama sacrificed in any way for his office. What I do see is that his wife magically got $200,000 raise at her hospital job after Obama was elected to the Ill. state Senate, Obama got a lucrative book deal without any record as a writer, Obama got a cushy land deal from an indicted and now convicted fundraiser, something that would never be afforded a regular person that was not politically connected.

As for Wright, Ayers, Dohrn, Khalidi and all the other radicals in Barack Obama’s circle of friends I couldn’t disagree with you more. Hanging around with anti-American radicals doesn’t show any sort of love for this country. It also calls into question Barack Obama’s judgment and character.

I get the feeling that you were never on the Republican’s side if such important questions could alienate you.

    Dear Terri,

Here is my rationale for voting for Obama. First let me vet myself by sharing that I graduated from West Point, volunteered for Iraq I, was wounded at 100% service-connected, then worked at Veteran Affairs doing Emergency Preparedness, and was wounded again in 9-11 (paralyzed from the waist down for 30 days). I walk fine now with a lot of hard work and persistence.

Anti-abortion- The Pro-life movement has been a failure because we spend too much time focusing on the All or Nothing mentality. Morally I am opposed to all abortions all of the time. Moreover I live that way, but I also realize that not all share my moral values. Abortion is best curtailed legally in the legislature and by changing the social culture of abortion. In 2008, whether legal or illegal abortions will happen in a manner consistent with people’s social conscience. Pick the battles that you can win- like federal legislation supporting Parental notification, supporting the rights of fathers, and give the liberals choice in cases of rape, incest, or medical health of the mother. Short of that don’t waste the time thinking that the Executive or the Judiciary really drives this issue in the current environment.

Gay-Marriage- Same thing. Protect the institution of “Marriage”, but what do I care about domestic partnerships and gays wanting rights to insurance, pensions, or tax status. I just don’t want them to hold ceremonies in my Catholic Church. Nor do I want my kids forced to learn about Gay marriages if we elect a public school.

Taxes- In 2004 with the Republican tax plan I made money. The truth is that as a single, father of 1, with an S-corp, and a $120k salary I paid less in taxes than my girlfriend who was single, a mother of 1, with a X-ray technician salary of $40K. I had business deductions out of the wazoo and it was good for me and I had no complaints. I took my extra money and invested it in my 2nd graduate education and my Audi TT. I provided services of value, but my tax savings went for my goodies.

Iraq- As a loyal disabled veteran of Irag I I don’t ascribe to the fallacy that leaving Iraq now and allowing the Iraqis to manage their own country equates to a loss. Those that do believe that, in my opinion, are the anti-patriots. Winning in Iraq? What are we winning? Do we gain oil? No Do we reduce terrorism membership? No, Do we gain security? No, not when you factor in the two front problem of the necessity to win in Afghanistan while being distracted in Iraq. 5 years and what have we gained? 4000+ dead, over 30,000 injured (most severe injuries that would have killed them with the technology 2 decades ago). So tell me again.. What is winning? A democratic Iraq with a surplus of Billions and a nation built with the blood of Americans for the primary benefit of Iraqis. To me that is bad policy and the Bush-Cheney administration should be accountable for that.

Anyone today that believes that taxes are the sector that is eating away at their fortune has their head in the sand. Just compare how much you spend in interest on credit, consumer fees, and finance charges in comparison to your tax bill and you will see that your financial problems originate with your spending habits (you-the collective you, not you personally). Americans typically do not save and use credit irresponsibly - me included. An individual with more than 1 credit card or credit balances in excess of 20% of income is wrong and should blame their decision making rather than any politician.

The reason I am voting for Obama is because I do believe in his message of hope and I really, really, really resent politicians pushing fear as a method of attracting me. The republican party needs a catharsis. I’m voting against character assertions without action, I’m voting against association politics, I’m voting against the war in Iraq. I’m voting against trickle down economics.

Liberals are my opponents not my enemies…. The republican party was in charge for the past 6 years out of 8. The definition of insanity…. Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results! I’m not crazy for Obama, but maybe, just maybe his intellect will pay off.

    To Jonathan,

Maybe you should check with the Bishop and Pope and then you would actually know Catholics doctrine on abortion and homosexuals. Are you really a Catholic? Maybe you should rethink your religious persuasion?.?

As far as political associations bho identifies with does point toward his character, views and his political thinking. He is very radical, left-leaning Democrat. Just today he appointed Rivera to the FCC to again enact the Fairness Doctrine to stifle Conservative talk radio. Hope your happy about that. All you will get is Liberal hogwash…who will inform you, Air America…pleeeeeeeeeezzz!

The economy is in a mess because the liberal dems FORCED banks to loan to people that had no job and could never repay a loan. Socialisism is all these people know. Be happy with it though. You can pay more money to the lazy unemployed masses that do not want a job. And soon you can add 20 million more as illegals will become citizens under bho and the other fools.

I could go on and on but it is pointless. People didn’t do their homework b4 voting. Just jumped on the latest CRAZE and bandwagon mentality, took over.

YOu be happy with your choice though.

  9. on 06 Nov 2008 at 7:55 pm Jonathan Williams

    To Ruby,

You begin by accusing me of not knowing my faith. I guess you really believe that your attacks, your frustration, and your negative tone… makes your right. Your response is the sad thing. I’m the Catholic who upon conversion read the entire Catholic catechism from beginning to end, I’m the Catholic that left West Point my senior year to go to Seminary to evaluate if I could better serve as a Priest. I’m the Catholic that has opposed abortion not only in theory, but in practice as well. I’m the Catholic that offered to adopt my 16yr old brother-n-law’s son as an option other than abortion. I’m the Catholic that “voluntarily” denies Social Security Disability because I do not need it. I’m 100% service-connected, but since I can work, since I like work, I get up and go to work (with the disability). My handicap parking pass is all the charity I need.

So, as for you and all of those that are like you. You make me so angry that it is better not to even associate with the closed limited minds that spreads hate. I see how liberals advance their agenda. They just point to the condescending Ruby’s of the world and say ….”Do you really want that”
