New Liberal Celebrity Jean Rohe Gets Her Feelings Hurt

You don’t have to read too far into Jean Rohe’s anti-McCain rebuttal speech at the New School commencement to understand that she is an idiot of colossal proportions. In fact you probably don’t have to read the speech at all. The praise she claims she was given pretty much clues you in as to where this leads.
When I was selected as a student speaker for the New School commencement about two months ago I had no idea that I’d end up on CNN and in Maureen Dowd’s column in the New York Times, among other places, when it was all over. One day after the big event I’m still reeling from all the media attention and emails from professors, students, and other supporters from all over the country, so forgive me if my writing is a little scattered.
Scattered, like her mind. In a nutshell, Rohe delivered a speech at New York’s prestigious New School University as a speaker who appeared before Senator John McCain. The speech was littered with liberal anti-Bush, anti-Iraq garbage as one would expect from the “praise” as stated above. But Rohe went beyond that and personally attacked Senator McCain.
Two excerpts from her speech are particularly descriptive of the liberal mindset that is passing for progressive thought these days (putting aside the colossal disrespect that liberals have for any conservative leader).
We have nothing to fear from anyone on this living planet. Fear is the greatest impediment to the achievement of peace. We have nothing to fear from people who are different from us, from people who live in other countries, even from the people who run our government–and this we should have learned from our educations here.
How can someone who attends school in New York be so oblivious to 9-11? What kind of fool believes that we have nothing to fear from terrorists? How about I point her to the planning that is going on as we speak? Did she happen to read about the two Saudis who decided to get on a school bus and just sit there speaking in Arabic? No? Perhaps she missed the segment in the NY Post that detailed how Hezbollah has placed sleeper cells in New York who are ready to strike if given the word. I could list thousands upon thousands of example of what we have to fear without resorting to historical lessons that Rohe aparrently missed in her expertly rounded education.
The next excerpt marks the gold standard for acceptance into the Huffington-Dowd crowd.
I do know that preemptive war is dangerous and wrong, that George Bush’s agenda in Iraq is not worth the many lives lost. And I know that despite all the havoc that my country has wrought overseas in my name, Osama bin Laden still has not been found, nor have those weapons of mass destruction.
Despite the havoc that my country has wrought overseas in my name? Ah, excuse me, idiot, perhaps you should move your sorry butt overseas and live under the rule of the likes of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad or perhaps as a jew in Hitler’s Germany before you dole out your narrow minded woa always the U.S. speech.
The U.S. is the largest provider of military and economic aid to the rest of the world. We don’t have to break it down by gnp or per capita; that’s an asinine yard stick put forth by socialists. The aid picture does not even begin to touch the surface of how much better off the rest of the world is due the technical, medical and and agricultural innovations provided by MY country.
Put me down as having one more thing to fear. We should fear the fact that Jean Rohe represents another generation of disrespectful morons whose heads are so full of “progressive” crap that they have deluded themselves into thinking that the U.S. is the enemy of the free world. She is a spoiled elitist brat who has proven that disrespect rules the day. She has earned nothing in her sad little existence that entitles her to attack another speaker at a commencement ceremony. Free speech is a right, yes, but idiocy is not a virtue. Live life like an idiot and you will be called on it; and now she hears the call coming.
This is why I am glad to hear that a top aide to Senator McCain rebutted Rohe’s speech on the Huffington post. It is “very unlikely any of you will ever possess…one small fraction of the character of John McCain”.
This is what has Rohe so upset. She can apparently dish it out but she can’t take it.
Let me make two things very clear. I am the farthest thing from a supporter of Senator McCain. I don’t like his politics much and I don’t really trust him to represent my position on politics. His voting record is largely conservative though, somewhere in the high 80 percentile; so we could have worse. But he deserves respect.
The second point I’d like to make is that people don’t deserve to be called an idiot or a moron simply by designating themselves as a liberal. They earn the label. In this case I think I am on safe ground.
