Negotiations With al-Qaeda? I Don’t Think So

The AP has an article out that quotes certain “experts” who were interviewed and have stated that we can not rule out the possibility of negotiating with al-Qaeda.
One problem, as pointed out by Jan Egeland, a Norwegian who helped broker secret talks between Israel and the PLO in the 1990s, is that al-Qaeda wants world domination and will accept nothing less than that. With that in mind, how would we negotiate with them and by what means? If the negotiation could lead to them ruling the world we can rule that out right now because going to the store wearing the Hijab or Burka isn’t an option.
Terry Waite, a Brit who was also held captive in Lebanon from 1987-1991 makes the following point:
No insurgency or terrorism has been defeated by warfare or violence……
This statement may be true but that does not mean it is not achievable. Furthermore, we have to win, radical Islamists are not pursuing a quest for land or independence, they are on a quest for world domination and those who do not succumb will be beheaded or enslaved as dhimmis.
He goes on to say:
There are some rational players in al Qaeda but it also attracts the psychotic. We need to seek an entry point…….
Excuse me, I have no idea what news this guy has been watching but I will challenge anyone to show me one person within al-Qaeda that does not fall under the definition of psychotic.
The AP talked to Mark Perry, Washington-based director of Conflicts Forum. He thinks that if al-Qaeda becomes unpopular within the Muslim world, thus putting a crack in their armor so to speak, we could use other Muslim countries to initiate secret negotiations with them.
That would be a great scenario, but I doubt it would happen. Besides, I do not want to rely on the Muslim world to handle this; we have been burned one too many times by them. Who would do it? Saudi Arabia? They play like they are our friends but the reality is that they are not, as demonstrated by their radical madrassas. Unfortunately I think the only way to eliminate radical Islam is by eliminating the people who are radicals.
I know that the last statement sounds harsh but I can not think of another alternative. I am not willing to wait and see if the Muslim world distances themselves from them seeing as they haven’t done so yet. After all, we have been screwing around with these nut jobs since the 1970’s. Enough is enough.

Yes,the CIA Helped Germany Foil Recent Terror Plot…
Many in the blogosphere questioned what, if any, involvement the United States had in the recent terror bust of al-Qaeda members in Germany. From this Spiegel Online report, it appears the US was in on this from the beginning: It…
One further note that people like Terry Waite seem completely oblivious to is the fact that no insurgency every succeeded without outside help.
It is silly to succumb to the belief that only way to defeat ultra-violent murderous terrorists is through dialog or some sort of negotiation. Rather than invite them in for tea it makes sense to put them in so much fear for the lives of themselves and those around them that they wouldn’t dare step out of line.
But don’t stop there, you keep at them until the madrassas are shut down and the preachers of hate are dead. The first step down that path is to eliminate those who support them.
