Weblogggin Editor,

I agree with the term limits and the right people to fill the jobs. I had some one that got real gruffy with me about it. He said but you would be messing up their retirements. I looked at him for a minute and asked him if they were worried about his retirement? That from what I could see they don't worry to much about anyone else but lining their own pockets.

I am only looking at new comers first when the next election comes around. I have already removed myself from one of my senators mailing list and asked not to receive anymore info from his office. After looking at this crowd and listening to the utter rubbish that comes out of them I just wish there were away to block the sound so other countries couldn't hear it. It's embarrassing for the whole country. I have a friend that lives in a remote area in Europe and wants it that way, she ask me why we are letting two people who are clearly unhinged run our congress. I don't have a good answer yet. Working on it.

At least now we know Harry Reid throws lousy pajama parties. Boy will he be off the cheerleaders list. Typical that he picked up all of his toys and went home. So now they can start all over again trying to figure out how to pass the funds for the troops. I personally would not want to run and God forbid win and have to sit with those people everyday. I would be locked up before the first coffee break. Just bring bail. But I would make sure it was worth it.

But again I done. Have a good one.

Hi Sue,

What a great assessment. I thought that the 109th Congress was bad but the 110th is giving it a run for its money.

One thing we can count on is that the finger waggers will be working overtime to place blame on anyone but themselves. Something along the lines that we made them attack us ought to fit that escape route.

Americans are not that naive. Congress is rated so pathetically low for many reasons. But I believe the single biggest reason is that none of them are willing to lead. Do nothing and point fingers is the safe route. But no more.

This country needs leaders instead of the self serving elitists we are stuck with today.

I'll know that leader has arrived when he or she comes to the game with the proposition of term limits in hand. That will be my first clue that this imaginary person is willing to do something right for the country rather than what is right for their own interests.

Term limits alone won't do the trick. We need principled people that can actually formulate ideas without a speech writer.

I hope everyone in this country is starting to wake up. We need a do over on both sides. This is pathetic.

On the plus side we are safe for now. The lines of communication are open and someone is hopefully listening.

Have a great weekend!

I am still at a loss as to who the people are that Pelosi keeps talking about that made it clear what they wanted in the last election. I understand that she thinks she was elected queen because she is in another reality as it is but you have to give her credit she is still everyone's favorite pet rock. And a good one at that. Best I've seen.

I was under the impression that we were electing congress members. But all I have seen so far is their impression of a bunch of little girls fighting over who has more jacks to play with. Some of the things that come out of their mouths puts them in the right age group.

The next time we get hit, not if, they can't even come running back out on the congress floors and blame President Bush. It's all going to be on their flat little heads. Their 3 ring circus show should work real well. They will come right back and start on "we need an investigation, we need another hearing". I'm sure that will work real well.

I'm done for now have a good weekend.

<span class="bluebold">Note to readers:</span> I am very happy to have comments from people of all points of view on this site. If you come in here with a civil tone, minus the ad hominem attacks I will respond in kind.

We often struggle with comments from people like "ithink". Should I delete them and look like I'm afraid of what they have to say or should I respond?

Going forward I will simply ban people who come in here trolling for a fight with name calling. The comments will be deleted, there will be no response, and I will lose little sleep over it.

Thanks for the comment thinknot,

Ad hominems aside, you can call surrender whatever you want, that doesn't change the fact that leaving Iraq would be giving victory to the terrorists who are there now. So calling for the retreat of American troops (hidden so cleverly and dishonestly under the term "redeployment") anything but surrender is dishonest and intellectually stunted.

But then that's what I'd expect from a troll who can't see the genocidal writing on the wall. Perhaps if you took your head out of your ass long enough to look at the situation you'd see that we wouldn't be giving anyone their country back by leaving, we'd be handing it over to genocidal terrorists and their Iranian backers.

Further, your asinine statement that Iraq was not involved with terrorist activities before we went in is simply not true. Iraq was used as a terrorist training ground and Saddam Hussein was paying the families of suicide bombers compensation for blowing themselves up in Israel. That is called supporting terror in most circles.

Funny how all the dire warnings about Iraq that came out of the Clinton administration suddenly became irrelevant when your guy lost. Regardless, our intelligence at the time stated that they thought he was reconstituting WMD's and for all we know he was. There hasn't been any proof that he wasn't or that they weren't moved out of the country before we came in. Further, Hussein could have ended the speculation himself by letting the inspectors in, but he didn't. He continued defying the U.N. (called international in most books). Concurrently he allowed his soldiers to fire regularly on U.N. sanctioned jets that were working in the no-fly zone. All the actions of a madman that certainly pretended to have WMD's.

Contrary to popular liberal beliefs Iraq was no panacea before we went in. Its just that Hussein took advantage of useful idiots like yourself to buy off United Nations members while concurrently starving and withholding medical supplies from children, women and men all for effect. People such as yourself bought it hook, line and sinker.

The same goes for all the mass graves that Hussein filled over the years. Just because the media failed to report his atrocities you guys walk around spewing bullshit based on ignorance, a liberal Democrat trait. For the record, it is estimated that Hussein's body count is somewhere around 2 million people.

You talk about "terorist inspiration" from a foundation of short sighted stupidity. This shows that you either know nothing about which you speak or you simply choose to ignore the real facts because you are an anti-American piece of crap.

<blockquote>And make no mistake, the Iraq war has not “intimidated” terrorists, it has inspired them. It has been a recruiting tool and given credence to their cause. It was like throwing gas on a fire. (again, these are actual FACTs, not some made up sound-byte to fit a failing policy.)</blockquote>

Newsflash, radical Islam has been waging various holy wars for centuries, the terrorists existed long before 9-11 and the War in Iraq is not an inspiration, it is an excuse.

The reason al-Qaeda is there is many, first and foremost however they are there because they are being fueled by Iran and Syria. The Iranians are pitting the Sunni's against the Shiites in an effort to topple Iraq's new government. Guerrilla wars such as this are perpetuated because of foreign influence; won without. Recall however that Democrats want to sit down with Iran and Syria, Democrats want to placate the main foreign source of weapons that are being used to kill Iraqi's and coalition forces and Democrats fear that Bush administration might actually do something to stop them.

Newsflash #2, the Democrats are not trying to end the war, they are trying to lose the war. If they truly wanted to end it we would be out. Don't they have the power to defund it? So if they aren't going to defund it and they can't manage to force a withdraw then what are they doing? This is your so called support for winning the war? What about calling the surge a failure before it even began? Is that how Democrats are trying to win? Please, enlighten me on the Democrat plan for victory.

If the Democrats aren't ignoring the work that the troops have done why aren't we hearing more about it from their mouths? Why do parents of Marines have to file lawsuits against Murtha if he is such a great supporter of the troops? Again, you have stated plenty of platitudinous garbage but the facts simply don't back your silly claims.

<blockquote>But the “enemy” in Iraq are dozens of separate “insurgent” groups whose goals vary. Many of them are fighting each other, many simply want the U.S. OUT of Iraq and many hope to prevent a western style democracy from becoming their government.

Is really quite sad that there are so many complete idiots in this country that have absolutley no clue about reality.</blockquote>

Agreed, I can't fathom how you became so clueless; probably because you didn't have a clue to start with. Riddle me this brain surgeon. Considering that Iraqi's turned out in record numbers to vote for their new government by an overwhelming majority where do you justify the complete idiotic statement you made above? The Iraqi's voted in their government despite the threat of death from those who didn't want democracy. Yet you, lord moron almighty have decided that the various insurgent groups should get their way instead. BTW, Iraqi's fear the exit of the United States, they fear what will happen to them if we leave.

It's not a Western style government either. It's their own brand of government, their own constitution and has representatives from all sides despite those who decided to sit the election out.

As far as the prosecution of the war you will get no argument from me that it was done horrendously. That doesn't change the fact that we can't afford to lose the war. The surge is designed to correct that; it was the change of course that was decided upon and validated when General Petraeus was appointed by Democrats and Republicans alike. Name me one war where there hasn't been errors and we'll have rounded out your string of idiotic claims.

<i>“Call To Surrender To Terrorists”<i>

Surrender verb [intrans] cease resistance to an enemy and submit to their authority

No one is suggesting that we surrender to terrorists. Not even Bush said anything that stupid. First of all, Iraq is not al-Qaida. The “enemy” you speak of is not trying to overthrow the US and no-one who we’re fighting is attempting to wield authority over the US.
Iraq did NOT start this war, Bush did. WE are the aggressors, the occupiers.
Leaving Iraq is not being defeated or surrendering, it’s giving a country back to it’s people.
And ending the war allows FAR MORE resources to be used to actually RESIST the real threat than we have available now, or for the past 5 years.
The war in Iraq was not started to defeat Iraq or al-Qaida. It was to remove WMDs that never existed. Iraq was never a threat to the US and is still not a threat to the US.
There was NO Tie between Iraq and al-Qaida. There was no al-Qaida in Iraq. Iraq did not attack the U.S.. Iraq was NOT involved in any terrorist activities.
Iraq was NOT involved in 9-11.
Get it through your thick skull. Iraq does not equal al-Qaida.
The war in Iraq has absolutely nothing to do with “the war on terror” beyond the BS that the current administrations keeps touting.
In Fact, (yes, the word “fact” may be foreign to you) any justification for the war involving “the war on terror” didn’t come until two years AFTER the war was started.
( I beleive it was the sixth attempt to change justification for the war)
And make no mistake, the Iraq war has not “intimidated” terrorists, it has inspired them. It has been a recruiting tool and given credence to their cause. It was like throwing gas on a fire. (again, these are actual FACTs, not some made up sound-byte to fit a failing policy.)
The only reason there are now al-Qaida followers in Iraq, is because we are there. And since Bush didn’t undertake securing their borders, (i wonder why) , many have walked right across the border and into the battle where they can take pot-shots at Americans. But even the Pentagon numbers (which are inflated) show these attacks (by al-Qaida operatives) to be almost insignificant and dwindling.
Furthermore, the Iraqi people have no history of Islamic extremism, of secular politics, or jiihadist activities. That would be al-Qaida, who is and has been in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
So to write “surrender to terrorists” is simply moronic. In fact, your whole assertion is moronic. The folks in Congress that are trying to end the war are doing exactly what they are supposed to do. They are “representatives”. I realize that word has more syllables than you can probably count, but the fact is, Congresses job, as defined by the constitution, is to represent the people, the vast majority of whom want out..

<i>.. ‘”the Democrats will be there to ignore your success and emphasize that of the terrorists who want us all dead.’<i>

Again, your comment is stupid. No-one is ignoring the work of the troops or undercutting the job they’ve done. Those sorts of accusations are simply lip service to distract non-thinking folks from the real issue. If by “the terrorists” you mean al-Qaida, well the FACT is that they have not had success in Iraq and no-one says different. Neither, by the way, do they “want us all dead”.
But the “enemy” in Iraq are dozens of separate “insurgent” groups whose goals vary. Many of them are fighting each other, many simply want the U.S. OUT of Iraq and many hope to prevent a western style democracy from becoming their government.
Is really quite sad that there are so many complete idiots in this country that have absolutley no clue about reality.

<i>"If they really wanted out of Iraq they would actually support something a bit more desirable, such as winning."<i>

Actually, they have.. many, many times since the war began, and have continued to do so. So have many GOPs. But Bush hasn’t listened. Instead, he has forged ahead and ignored the advice af many experts, generals and diplomats.. including his own party. He has fired, black-balled, dismissed and buried anyone who has disagreed. And many who were accused of being “unpatriotic” have since been proved to have been right.
This goes way back to the beginning when the number of troops was debated. It goes back to after the invasion when the generals ON THE GROUND pleaded for more troops, better supplies and some sort of CLEAR leadership.. but were catagorically denied. And it even occurred during the elections when Dems tried to have troops redeployed to the borders to prevent al-Qaida operatives from entering the country and escalating the violence.
So, once again, get your FACTS straight before you post.

I realize that word has more syllables than you can probably count, but the fact is, Congresses job, as defined by the constitution, is to represent the people, the vast majority of whom want out..

.. ‘”the Democrats will be there to ignore your success and emphasize that of the terrorists who want us all dead.’

“If they really wanted out of Iraq they would actually support something a bit more desirable, such as winning.”

Just like when you copy a document, the original is always the best. Cloned animals like Dolly the Sheep, had issues that don't normally crop up with non-cloned animals. Maybe with more work and research, cloning can be improved, but that is all spec....
