Americans can count another win on the front to defeat open borders politicians who would rather open back door paths to amnesty than do the will of THE AMERICAN PEOPLE and vote for borders language and culture. Dick Durbin should be the first to go, right along side Harry Reid and all the others who have sided with foreign invaders purely for the express purpose of placating business interests, their deep pocketed lobbying groups and securing the vote of a future minority voting bloc. This is more than shameful; it is downright treachery.

Of course never underestimate the left in their twisted attempts to paint this in terms of “the effect on the children”.

Legislation to give children of illegal immigrants a path toward legality failed a crucial test vote in the Senate Wednesday, likely putting a final stamp on major immigration measures for the year.

Supporters needed to get 60 votes to advance the DREAM Act, which would have allowed illegal immigrants who plan to attend college or join the military, and who came to the United States with their families before they turned 16, to move toward legality.

The final vote was 52-44.

The Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors Act was a popular portion of the comprehensive immigration plan that would have legalized as many as 12 million unlawful immigrants while fortifying the border.

That bill failed in the Senate back in June, but the DREAM Act supporters wanted to see if their portion would pass on its own to help immigrant children who came to this country illegally.

“Children should not be penalized for the actions of their parents,” said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev.

“What crime did these children commit?” added Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., the Senate’s No. 2 Democrat. “They committed the crime of obeying their parents and following their parents to this country. Do you think there was a vote in the household about their future? I don’t think so.” - (SFGate who else?)

Shut the hell up. Both Dick Durbin and Harry Reid are two of the biggest asses to ever hit Congress. (as if we needed more proof)

Democrats and some usual suspects in the Republican Party are attempting to commit political suicide this morning by following the lead of Senator Dick Durbin in giving amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants.

Numbers USA summarizes it perfectly.

(October 23) Last night, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) filed to invoke cloture on S. 2205, Assistant Majority Leader Dick Durbin’s (D-Ill.) new stand-alone DREAM Act amnesty bill. The cloture vote, for which 60 YES votes are necessary to prevent a filibuster on the measure, is set for Wednesday, October 24. Reid is attempting to bring this nightmarish amnesty bill to the floor under Senate Rule XIV without it ever having been debated in committee…

Let’s start backwards on the Dingy Harry attempt to back door this in repeatedly without debate by looking at the potential results of latest attempt to railroad the American voter.

In anticipation of today’s cloture vote, DREAM Act supporters have been telling people that the measure would give amnesty to only 60,000 illegal aliens a year; see this, for instance, from the Daily Kos. But even their own think tank disagrees — the Migration Policy Institute has estimated that 360,000 illegals would get amnesty right away, with another 715,000 benefiting in the future, for a total of over 1 million amnestied. Using a different data source, we looked at the same question and estimated that the total number of potential beneficiaries of the amnesty is 2.1 million. What’s more, there are another 1.4 million parents and young siblings of the under-18 amnesty recipients who do not themselves qualify for the amnesty, but whom the government is likely to let stay once their family members get legalized. All this assumes no fraud, which is likely to be rampant, both with people lying about how old they were when they came here and with people lying about their own age, to meet the bill’s cutoff of 30. The reason these elites get away with this crap is because the American voter put them into office in the first place. You put trust in them and they pulled the rug out from under you. Their hope is that this new crop of voters will be less likely to care about things that you legal voters seem to care about; mainly corruption, ending government handouts and lowering the tax burden on hard working Americans.

It’s time to make a mark; not one person who votes for this garbage should be on your list for re-election. I don’t care if they have a perfect rating on conservative issues. This is a slap in the face to millions of Americans that want their schools dedicated to teaching their children without resources being pulled away to deal with the special needs of non-English speaking students who broke into this country. This is about pocketing your hard earned tax dollars and using that to buy votes. Taxes that are much too high already, being diverted to the pockets of people that don’t belong in this country in the first place; true foreigner invaders from another country who will benefit greatly by your hard work and dwindling rewards.

Don’t have enough money to make that mortgage, car payment or computer loan? How about food? Scraping to make ends meet? Is that Christmas list for your kids looking thin? Blame Democrats that think the American tax system is their own piggy bank that can be lavished upon people that don’t belong in this country in the first place; technically criminals by every definition of the word.

Senators Durbin, Hagel and Lugar invite you to a staff briefing on S. 2205, the DREAM Act. A cloture vote on the motion to proceed to the DREAM Act will take place this Wednesday morning (tomorrow). The briefing is scheduled for Tuesday, October 23, in SC-6 of the U.S. Capitol.

The DREAM Act would make it possible for certain long-term undocumented immigrant children to go to college or join the military if they meet stringent requirements. It does not address the status of their parents, but simply allows children-who had no choice in the decision to come here-the opportunity to continue their education and give back to the country that they call home.

This bipartisan legislation has passed the Senate Judiciary Committee three times in various forms, and was approved by the Senate last year as part of the comprehensive immigration bill, S. 2611.
