Man Kills 9 at Omaha Mall

A man who has been identified as Robert A. Hawkins, entered Westroads Mall, in Omaha, Nebraska, wearing an Army-green vest and holding a rifle. He then proceeded to go on a killing spree before killing himself. Seven of the victims died at the scene, two died at Creighton University Medical Center, and six were wounded. Three of the wounded are listed in critical condition. It is also being reported that he was recently fired from Bellevue McDonald’s restaurant for stealing $17.00.
A gunman opened fire inside a department store in an Omaha, Nebraska, mall, killing at least nine people, including himself, and injuring six others, police spokeswoman Sgt. Teresa Negron said on CNN.
The suspect, who wore an Army-green vest and had a rifle, was 19-year-old Robert A. Hawkins from Bellevue, a city just south of Omaha, local television station KETV reported. Hawkins allegedly left a note saying he would be famous, KETV said, citing Sarpy County Sheriff spokesman Rollie Yost.
CNN is reporting that Hawkins left a suicide note behind claiming that he “wanted to go out in style”.
