Kennedy Endorses Obama

What was interesting about today’s Kennedy endorsement for Obama isn’t the obvious political move of Teddy Kennedy; but the endorsement from Caroline Kennedy. I think Neil Cavuto put it best on today’s “Common Sense” segment from Fox’s Your World w/ Neil Cavuto:
Caroline Kennedy brings something more.
Support. Without the baggage. Without the tabloid tales or embarrassing incidents.
Because she has spent a life avoiding politics, she is bigger than politics and politicians.
And for her to say before her party has agreed on a nominee that she already has, Obama didn’t just pick up an endorsement today. He picked up a piece of history.
Not because she has her uncle’s gift of gab or generating controversy. But precisely because she does not.
I completely agree with this; I also noticed the energy of Obama’s base. They are fired up. I am not an Obama fan but I have to admit that he is running a very smart campaign that is keeping his base red hot.
I tuned in, only for a short time, to both Clinton and Giuliani’s rallies and I have to say it was like listening to crickets in comparison to Obama’s rally. The people at both the Clinton and Giuliani rallies were bored as could be.
If this is any indication of the future, Obama will be the Democrat nominee and I believe that this will prove to be a tough Presidential race.
