Joe Lieberman Concedes Defeat and Announces that He Will Run as an Independent

The leftistphere is falling all over themselves with glee as Joe Lieberman has just announced that he will run as an independent.
How bad is this news for the Democrats? The following quotes from Markos over at the Lost Kos sum it up perfectly:
While this race isn’t officially over, it’s pretty much over. Lieberman just announced that he is running as an independent.
I know Democrats in DC, including many of Lieberman’s allies, are horrified at that possibility. Lieberman will tell them all to fuck off. He doesn’t care. He doesn’t care about promises he made to them to respect the will of the primary voters.
It’s not the language that bothers me so much. Rather it is the style that digs under my skin. This is the typical modern day liberal in full color and it is now your Democrat Party coming out in full bloom.
This will be a true test of the parties will to maintain the status quo of the power structure versus let the fringies will to call the shots.
Kos is demanding the following:
Now, Lieberman wants to stab his allies and his party in the back. It won’t be the first time.
Here’s what we all need to do the next few days:
- Push Harry Reid to strip Lieberman of all committee assignments.
- Let people know what a sore loser Lieberman is.
- Get all Democrats — including Bill Clinton — to publicly back Ned Lamont.
- Get the Democratic interest groups who backed Lieberman to switch allegiances in the general.
I personally couldn’t be happier that the far left is reacting this way. This is just a taste of what the Democrat Party can expect going forward. Middle America is finally getting to see what the MSM has been trying to temper. Good Luck.
