It’s Here - “Stop Loss” - Another Hollywood $25 Million Dollar Anti-American Piece of Sh*t - Coming Soon to a Theater Near You

March 28, 2008 at 4:29 pm in Feature Article, That's Hollywood!

Yup, the writers strike didn’t come soon enough to prevent the liberidiots in Hollywood from dragging out writer and director Kimberly Peirce from the dustbin of celebrity movie making and teaming her up with another Hollywood lefty to write a Democrat version of patriotism along the much traveled route that maligns the U.S. military.

“Back home in Texas after fighting in Iraq, a soldier refuses to return to battle despite the government mandate requiring him to do so.”

Stop Loss - Celebrating the breaking of a contract with the American Military to serve the country.

Stop Loss co-writer, Mark Richard, is currently working on another anti-military harangue called “The Ice at the Bottom of the World“. In this next installment of San Francisco style patriotism a retired Navy captain returns to his home in the Chesapeake Bay, where his long-time absence has taken a huge toll on his family.

A writer at Libertas summed it up perfectly:

Illegal war? Check: ”I signed up thinking I was going over there to protect my country.”

Subtle music cue with damning lyrics? Check: “Get up. Get out. Get away from these liars cus they don’t get your soul or your fire.”

Stateside girlfriend lamenting PTS [post traumatic stress syndrome]? Check: “What the hell happened to these guys?”

More subtle lyrics? Check: ”I want so much to open your eyes.”

Possible allusion to crime committed while in Iraq? Check: ”Nothing we did over there bothers you at all?”

This is a picture perfect glimpse into the minds eye of the Democrat party base. They sit comfortably in Starbucks demanding the freedom to drink their venti no-whip organic milk lowfat extra foam latte completely oblivious to fact that the policies and protections that actually give them the safety to fantasize about a world without the big mean U.S. military are also the very same policies that prevents the bad guys from shooting a missile straight up their pompous Hollywood asses.

  1. How did you do a review in January when this film came out in March? Do you actually see stuff before you review it or do you just say, no, they don’t believe what I believe I will call it Anti-American? Based on what, the trailer? I know, why read the novel when you can buy the cliff notes right? Is that how you got through college? I am conservative too but I actually watch and listen before I make an informed comment about something. This film does an amazing job showing the complexities of the soldiers returning home from war. My youngest brother signed up for the military at 18 as a boy and came back a broken man. He has nightmares every single night, he has a severe alcohol problem, he has an injured leg and most importantly, he is not the same sweet kid he was. The movie does a great job delving into some of these issues. I understand that you are the authority on what is and is not American but I suggest that you take the time to see it yourself before judging it.

  2. Hi. I don’t need to see this particular movie to know that it is an anti-American piece of shit. I based my observations (not really a review, more of a warning) on the outline of the movie on IMDB, the trailers and the reviews of people who have actually seen it. These movies get pre-screened. See Libertas, Variety, etc.

The movie incorrectly frames the premise of stop-loss as some sort of illegal or out of the norm kind of act by the military; as such it is simply propaganda. This is part of the contract when you sign up. Libs may not like it but that’s the deal. It is always a potential.

The Hollywood push to glamorize deserting an obligation to the military is not only unpatriotic it is borderline illegal IMHO. They are advocating that people essentially violate their obligation to serve at a time when our nation is at war; regardless if you agree or disagree with the war.

While I understand your plight with you brother and completely hope that he gets treatment he needs I cannot subscribe to the notion that he is the rule. You are conflating your own personal experience and applying it to the military as a whole. His plight may be no different than a traumatized service man in the police force, fire department or anywhere else. Yes, he deserves the very best that this nation has to offer but his plight makes the military no less necessary.

The people whose lives were torn apart during 9/11 suffer greatly and the military is in place to protect our nation. What should we conclude about their trauma, the broken limbs, the disfigured and burned survivors, the orphans? If our military is not there to protect them then we as a nation will suffer. I hope your brother realizes that his service to the nation is something that is honored by the people over here; we are in his debt. He has much to be proud of.

The movie minimizes his sacrifice to so haphazardly attack the military based on the liberal notions of Hollywood dumbshits that can’t even recognize that they have the freedom and ability to be so stupid and unpatriotic due to the actions and very existence of the military they despise so openly.

I don’t need to see Stop-Loss to make an opinion. I actually fell for that ruse on The Golden Compass to prove a point. I was criticized for calling that an anti-God piece of shit without even seeing it, despite knowing full and well about the book and its authors. I went to see it and guess what; it was exactly what I had thought it was.

You are free to go and support such a stupid movie to your hearts content. Over here I know a piece of shit when I see it coming. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
