If This Doesn't Anger You Nothing Will

Update and Bumped To The Top:
A bipartisan group of Senators is working behind closed doors to hammer out the final details of an immigration bill that will grant amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants. But that is only one aspect that will make your blood boil. Included in the amnesty plan courtesy of a newly contrived bureaucratic shit sandwich called a “Z visa” is something the legislators call the “Dream Act”. The name of this act is the fancy moniker being used instead of the more appropriate “screw you hombre, we’re getting in-state tuition while you sad sacks take second mortgages because your wages have been depressed due to unfair competition from Congress’s favorite slave population”.
That’s right, the lard asses in Congress who have gotten rich on the American taxpayer’s dime have devised a scheme to give millions of illegal immigrants in-state tuition as a reward for breaking the laws of this country (and of course that future vote somewhere down the line).
Meanwhile, you, the sucker who voted these corrupt idiots into Congress, work longer hours and see your family less because your representative couldn’t find a way to represent you and bring down the cost of education for your legally residing children. Those efforts have been reserved for non-American citizens.
The Z visa plan would start with the estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in the United States going on a probationary legal status. If the triggers are met — a process that Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) estimated would take 18 months — then illegal immigrants who qualify could get Z visas. Those who have committed felonies would not be eligible, Graham said, and all participants would have to pass security checks, pay a fine and a processing fee and pass an English proficiency test.
Z visa holders would be able to apply for legal permanent resident status, a step toward citizenship. But at some point, the heads of households with Z visas would have to return to his or her home country and then reenter the United States. They would have to take their Z visa to the U.S. Embassy or consulate and would be guaranteed reentry. The Z visa would include a photo and fingerprints, Graham said.
Tuesday’s talks followed two months of negotiations between key senators and administration officials, including Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff and Commerce Secretary Carlos M. Gutierrez.
“We’ve made a lot of progress,” said Sen. Arlen Specter (R-Pa.). “There are a few issues outstanding. The staffs have worked around the clock.”
[~snip]
Reid also said there had been progress in some important areas. The two sides have agreed on the Dream Act, a provision that would allow young illegal immigrants to attend college at in-state tuition rates and eventually gain citizenship. Democrats and Republicans have also agreed on a jobs program for the agriculture industry and on access to courts for legal immigrants.
And they have settled on a plan that would award a “Z visa” to all qualified illegal immigrants in the country before a date that has yet to be decided. Applicants would have to pass security checks, learn English and pay a $5,000 fine.
The visa would have an eight-year probation period, during which time the head of the household would have to return to his home country and then re-enter the U.S. They would have to take their “Z visa” to the U.S. Embassy or consulate and would be guaranteed re-entry to the U.S. - LA Times
Why all the language and name calling in my article? Simple, I’m sick of all these politicians who go along their merry way despite every indication that hard working Americans want nothing to do with the giveaways, perks and line jumping being afforded those who broke our laws.
These people in Congress are beyond disgraceful and not one of them deserves my vote. I have heard a lot of talk about how the last election wasn’t a liberal/democrat mandate. It was more of a vote against George Bush. This is quite true and the perks to illegal immigrants had a lot to do with that. I have news for my representatives in Congress. Vote for illegal immigration now with all the perks of in-state tuition, subsidized living, amnesty and who knows what else and you will see the real wrath of the electorate. Take a picture because it’s one of the last votes you people will be making courtesy of my support at the ballot box; and I’m not alone. I will not give one vote to someone who supports this bill.
The bill is not being given any time for debate despite the 600+ pages of complexity. Supporters of the Bill are Majority Leader Harry Reid (D.-Nev.) and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R.-Ky.). They are being flanked by the Senate Republicans Arlen Specter (Pa.) and Jon Kyl (Ariz.).
Red State has more on the issue.
Sen. John McCain (R.-Ariz.), who has tried to carefully maneuver around the issue, said during tonight’s Republican presidential debate that an agreement is near. McCain, who sponsored last year’s bill with Sen. Teddy Kennedy (D.-Mass.), has charged Sen. Lindsey Graham (R.-S.C.) with overseeing negotiations. Graham was in Washington today despite the debate’s taking place in Columbia, S.C.
Senator McCain can sidestep reality for an eternity as far as I’m concerned. He has surrounded himself with Republicans who consistently share the mainstream medias’ vaunted maverick label which is only given for supporting liberal democrats. I will never vote for him.
Jed Babbin says to call your Senators. I agree.
At issue now is the issue of “chain immigration.” That’s when an immigrant brings in relatives. The deal earlier was that chain immigration was limited to immediate family members. Now, the libs are reopening it to include whomever (a third cousin from down south or second cousin once removed who’s spent the last six years in Afghanistan). The libs are getting all the mileage they can from the Republicans.
As they say in my old neighborhood, we have to go to the mattresses on this. Call your senators now. Each can be reached through the Capitol switchboard, 202-224-3121. Call now, call later, and keep calling.
This is the most important issue facing Americans besides the war on terror. There is no talk here about closing the border; that has become an afterthought by politicians that hope lip service will do enough to appease the electorate until after 2008 where they can further remove the word “American” from language, borders and culture.
The slick talking salesman have the keys to the kingdom and the sale won’t end until you decide to kick them out. I have already made that decision.
Update: The scheme unfolds as Senate Republicans team up with Kennedy to pass this bill in the middle of the night.
Hugh Hewitt, normally a big Bush supporter received the Republican talking points and essentially calls it “4 pages of crap“.
Word is leaking that the GOP in the Senate are on the verge of agreeing to an immigration bill that has –as a concession to the GOP– less than half of the fencing promised by law last year.
White flag time on the border, and a national security and thus a political disaster.
The GOP are sending around talking points attempting to make this “compromise” defensible, but it won’t and shouldn’t fly.
Read the 4 pages of crap at Hugh’s blog.
The Washington Times details the extent of the Bush administration led garbage capitulation on this issue.
The Bush administration, trying to win an immigration agreement with Democrats, is backing away from safeguards designed to target businesses that hire illegal aliens and to prevent a repeat of the rampant fraud that resulted from the 1986 amnesty.
Republicans are pleading with the Bush administration to hold firm on the safeguards, arguing that otherwise any new guest-worker program will be unworkable.
“We need their help on that,” said Sen. John Cornyn, Texas Republican, who for two years has fought to give the Department of Homeland Security new tools to limit lawsuits, share information with the Social Security Administration and allow authorities to target those whose applications are denied and who should be deported.
The Republican Party is imploding on itself with this crap. They are betting once again that voters would rather accept this kind of garbage than put Democrats in charge; a very misguided calculation. Haven’t they seen Pelosi, Reid and Murtha recently?

I have one question… Whose DREAM is this? Certainly not average American citizens, tax-payers, and those who came here the proper way. Certainly not those families struggling to get their own children through school, college, into jobs so they can be independent tax-payers themselves. Again, whose dream bill is this? What a sad joke on Americans.
They are dreaming if they think this one won’t come back to haunt them. The problem is that the damage will already be done by the time we kick them out.
