Hypocrisy On Parade - Edwards To Keep Anti-Religious Bigots

The word just in is that John Edwards is going to retain the services of left wing hate mongers Amanda Marcotte and Melissa McEwan as blog masters for his internet style Presidential Campaign. (H/T Sister Toldjah)
The tone and the sentiment of some of Amanda Marcotte’s and Melissa McEwan’s posts personally offended me. It’s not how I talk to people, and it’s not how I expect the people who work for me to talk to people. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but that kind of intolerant language will not be permitted from anyone on my campaign, whether it’s intended as satire, humor, or anything else. But I also believe in giving everyone a fair shake. I’ve talked to Amanda and Melissa; they have both assured me that it was never their intention to malign anyone’s faith, and I take them at their word. We’re beginning a great debate about the future of our country, and we can’t let it be hijacked. It will take discipline, focus, and courage to build the America we believe in.
Good. You are the company that you keep and Edwards is keeping the worst of the worst. This is a perfect testimonial for the kind so America that the left wants to lead us into.
My interpretation of Edward’s statement is as follows:
“We on the left are moral relativists and we don’t judge people by what they do. Instead we judge them by what they can do for us.
Sure, I know that Amanda Marcotte and Melissa McEwan are left wing religious bashing extremists but I really don’t care what you think. All you John Paul’s and Mary Marie’s can kiss my lilly-white southern trial lawyer butt.
And hey, if you were offended by Amanda’s characterization of Mary getting it on with the Holy Spirit then so be it. It’s nothing that we haven’t heard before so get over it. She was just joking anyway.
I’m John Edwards and this is the kind of judgment you can expect from me when I am elected as your President.”
The AP is helping to circle the wagons on this one as they politely act as the medium for Edward’s statement.
WASHINGTON — Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards said Thursday he was personally offended by the provocative messages two of his campaign bloggers wrote criticizing the Catholic church, but he’s not firing them.
Edwards issued a written statement about the fate of Amanda Marcotte and Melissa McEwen, two days after the head of the conservative Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights demanded they be fired for messages they wrote before working on the campaign.
The campaign distributed written apologies from the two women, who stressed they were writing on personal blogs and not on behalf of the campaign. Edwards said he believes in giving everyone a “fair shake.”
“I’ve talked to Amanda and Melissa; they have both assured me that it was never their intention to malign anyone’s faith, and I take them at their word,” Edwards said.
Never their intention to malign anyone’s faith? John Edwards is the typical spineless politician of the left. Not having enough guts to do what is right he caves to the nutroots by issuing some half baked lie that is meant to deflect blame and pull the wool over the eyes of his supporters; many of whom I would imagine are the religious type.
Fortunately it just solidifies the fact that the left believes that the majority of religious Democrats are too stupid to see through the liar even when he looks them in the face with a wagging finger and self assured smugness. They are probably right.
