It appears that Norman Hsu wants to leave the planet before anyone can learn just how deep into Democrat coffers his corrupt fundraising activities have delved.

Hmm, if I was a rabid moonbat on the right, er wingnut, I would pin this on Hillary Clinton. I’d say that he wants to die less than her desire to make him disappear. But I’m not.

Instead we will have to wonder why he was on the run a second time and why he wanted to commit suicide. Especially after learning that Oprah’s favorite candidate Barack Obama is tied to the same criminal figure as his supposed adversary. Ooops, are we not supposed to mention that Barack Obama has deep deep deep ties with another indicted political fundraiser? Or are we just supposed to skip over the fact that another Democrat candidate for President is tied to multiple criminal fundraisers who have some weird ability to work with the heads of the party despite their criminal background, vast ties to foreign governments, bank fraud and who knows what else?

Seeing that the Obama story broke on Saturday in the Washington Post I should provide a few paragraphs from them as to how the two are linked; otherwise it might just evaporate before our very eyes.

Before becoming a major bundler for Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s presidential campaign, disgraced Democratic donor Norman Hsu helped host a 2005 California event for Barack Obama’s political action committee and introduced the senator from Illinois to one of the biggest fundraisers for his presidential bid.

Federal Election Commission records show that Hsu gave $5,000 to Obama’s Hopefund PAC in connection with the fundraiser and that people publicly identified with Hsu and his companies gave an additional $19,500 to the PAC in 2005 and 2006.

Mark Gorenberg, who now sits on Obama’s national finance committee and is one of his biggest fundraisers, said Hsu organized an early 2005 event for the Hopefund and invited him to help raise money.

“He introduced me to Barack Obama,” Gorenberg said of Hsu. “He was working on an event for Barack’s PAC, and he asked me to help, and I did. Barack came up to San Francisco, and [Hsu] introduced him to a bunch of people.”

I have got to admit that Obama is less likely than his counterparts to accept vast amounts of money and donations. Instead he prefers to concentrate more on political favors, hundreds of thousands of dollars in discounts on land purchases and the various sundry perks that is afforded U.S. Senators who are protected from jail for participating in activities that would land you or I quite a few years.

Now comes word that Hsu is feared to be suicidal. Hence hospital bed instead of jail cell. Boy, criminals that are tied to politicians sure seem to get all the perks. I wonder if any other con man on the run would have been able to con a judge out of putting him into jail on a third attempt?

A person close to Hsu’s family, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the pending criminal case, said multiple communications that Hsu made in recent days raised concerns about his safety, including fears about possible suicide. “There were some serious concerns,” the source said.

Hsu emerged on Thursday morning, boarding Amtrak’s California Zephyr in Emeryville, Calif., bound for Chicago.

About 11 a.m., as the train approached Grand Junction, the engineer radioed a dispatcher that a passenger had fallen on the train and would need medical attention, possibly including a backboard, local fire officials said. That passenger was Hsu.

He hobbled off the train at the Grand Junction station 15 minutes later and was taken by ambulance to St. Mary’s Hospital, where he remains in fair condition.

Local police officials said they were called late in the day by the FBI to help them secure Hsu and place him under arrest in his hospital bed. Agents are waiting for Hsu’s condition to improve, at which point he will be brought before a federal magistrate and ordered transferred back to California, according to Joseph Schadler, an FBI spokesman in San Francisco.

This is just a brief stop on the Norma Hsu path. Democrats are going to have a lot of answering to do if the MSM, scratch that, Republicans have any kind of brains behind their campaigns. I think Americans need some answers. The first one is whether or not Hsu will stay alive long enough to tell them?
