It seems that denigrating the military has never ending benefits for the American left. Recall the pride that John Murtha bestowed among his fellow soldiers when he decided they were guilty until proven innocent in Haditha.

From there Rep. John Murtha suggested that the American presence in Iraq is more dangerous to world peace than nuclear threats from North Korea or Iran. His solution was to pull out of the country and let the chips fall where they may as we monitored the situation from Okinawa Japan. Yeah sure, we can just toss a few cruise missiles into Baghdad and everyone will play good for all the world to see.

Like I said though, the rewards are limitless when you play patsy cakes with the anti-war left. In Rep. John Murtha’s case you get to be considered for House Majority leader; the exact job he was gunning for in July of this year. (and no, I did not mean to say patty cakes).

So much for the culture of corruption worries. Rep. John Murtha, pending House Majority Leader and former un-indicted Abscam co-conspirator can rest easy that Democrats and their supporters have a short memory.

Beyond the Democrat Party the next group to benefit the most by warming up to the revitalized anti-military left is Hollywood. This group is ripe for the pickin’ whenever opportunity presents itself. Thus the latest regurgitated claim that the army recruits a bunch of dimwitted morons was perfect fodder for the creators of The Simpson’s.

To summarize, the Army recruiters try their best to recruit the biggest losers from the halls of Springfield High. When that effort fails they decide to move on to Springfield Elementary and eventually end up with Homer. Everyone they recruited had IQ’s so low they were assigned to “front line infantry” with the exception of Homer and couple of other drooling idiots who were used as target practice. Finally Lisa lectures a defeated Colonel at the hands of the moronic Homer on the lessons of Vietnam. Kaching!Hot Air has the video.

So there you have it. The American left sees limitless rewards for their attitudes toward the true American heroes who put their lives on the line every day to protect those who would spit in their faces given the chance. Nice.
