Has U.S. Meddling Caused Terrorism?

Over and over again I have heard two main points blaming the United States for terrorism. The first is that the United States’ meddling in the Middle East and around the world has caused terrorists. The second is that the United States’ thirst for oil has also escalated violence. In other words, the United States has brought radical Islam upon herself.
I have often argued against this; I have maintained that Islamic terrorists are terrorists because their goal is world domination and it is not our meddling that has caused this, this is what they want. This is who they are. Radical Islamists have vocalized this on more than one occasion. Their attacks around the world bolster this point.
A recent attack happened at a Manila mall. The description of those who were struck in this heinous event is horrible. Radical Islamists do not care who they target, they only care about their endgame.
The Philippines is simply another reminder that radical Islam is attempting to force their will on a country in the hopes of taking it over.
One of the biggest forces in this attempt is a group that calls themselves Abu Sayyaf, meaning Bearers of the Sword. This terrorist group is known for guerrilla warfare within the Philippines against the Philippine Military and also known for the many beheadings of infidels or non-believers.
Abu Sayyaf claims that they want an independent Islamic state in the Southern Philippines; the reality is if they are able to gain control of the South, it is likely the North would also fall into the hands of radical Islam.
A few more examples of places around the world who are suffering at the hands of radical Islamists are:
While everyone on the left sits and debates about the United States being the bad guys, the real enemy is taking a serious foothold in countries around the world because their goal is an all Islamic world.
If the United States is guilty of anything it is guilty of not recognizing the Islamic threat back in the 1970’s. We were so worried about the threat of communism, albeit a justified concern, we overlooked the larger threat of radical Islam.
