In my never ending quest to alert you to the cultural filth that is sneaking into your children’s minds, I have sad news. The sex-filled, drugged out and alcoholic Gossip Girl series is now coming to TV on the CW network. The series premiere is September 19, 2007. This is the TV adaptation of the series of books I have been reviewing over the last two years. The books are marketed to the Youth (I’m talking 12-year-olds here). The TV series has not yet been rated so I can’t say for sure who the target audience is, but it would be awfully strange to have a show about 16-year-olds marketed to over 21-year-olds.

If you go to CW’s site you’ll see previews that include lots of underage drinking, partying, and getting busy with each other’s boyfriends. It’s just like reading the books! Painful.

I almost think this is a pointless warning since good parents don’t let their kids sit in front of the TV for endless hours anyway, and bad parents won’t be reading this because they don’t care about what their kids watch! But on the off chance that some of you trust your kids to pick their own shows….DON’T let them pick Gossip Girl.
I also would like you to notice that these kids are the NY “elite”. That’s what they call themselves. And they are all raised with extremely liberal values. There isn’t a conservative in the bunch, which supports my belief that liberals are the real elitists….and they know it. The person who wrote these books says she grew up in this high society NY scene and this was her reality. Rich liberals=valueless, vapid, dangerous, selfish wastes of humanity.
