Eva Longoria - Idiot of the Moment or Dupe of Hollywood Media?

NEW YORK — Eva Longoria says she would consider having a child out of wedlock with NBA star-boyfriend Tony Parker — but he wouldn’t.“I would,” the 31-year-old “Desperate Housewives” actress says in an interview in Allure magazine’s April issue, on newsstands Tuesday. “But Tony won’t. … He’s only been with one other person in his life.”
Longoria says it was “lust at first sight” when she met Parker, 23, a point guard for the San Antonio Spurs, in the Spurs’ locker room after a game last year. Chicago Tribune - “In Longoria’s love life, she is `teacher’”
Oh that poor simple Antonio, he is so traditional. But not Eva, she is a trendsetter blazing the way for women all across the globe. After all, we are just talking about a child (not Antonio mind you) and soon to be middle aged actress’s urge to be fulfilled by having one out of wedlock. But that is OK. Hollywood libs tell us so.
Forget the statistics that show children are better off in two parent homes with hands on parental care from both a mother and a father. Eva can get a good nanny and the kid can grow up reading about his moms ex-boyfriend in the newspaper while he records his precious time with mommy on Tivo. It is all so perfect.
Of course Eva has some three months to call it off after getting pregnant should she change her mind.
This is no surprise from the suddenly famous Desperate House lib that is soon to co-star beside Michael Douglas in a film called Sentinel. The tag line, “In 141 years, there’s never been a traitor in the Secret Service…. Until Now.”
It figures, a movie about an affair, a corrupt secret service agent and a plot to kill the President. This plot sounds about as deep as Longoria. This will be an interesting one as Kiefer Sutherland brings his Jack Bauer persona to the big screen as the main agent looking for the killer (my money is on Sutherland). But I digress. How did the question of a child out of wedlock even come up? The stupidity of Hollywood and those who cover it never seem to amaze me.
If the story in the Tribune is true, and I hope it isn’t, then I regret to say that Eva Longoria is more proof that acting and common sense are often contradictions in terms.
