Has anyone else noticed that the left has dropped “the culture of corruption” mantra in preference to the latest spate of “fear mongering” themes? This is pretty ironic coming from a group that has lived the last 6 years on fake NSA spy stories, the failing economy, conspiratorial gas prices, intentional hurricanes and the general victimization of every ethnic and age based segment of society they could get in front of; all at the hands of the evil Republican administration of course.

The thumb sucking babies on the left have been quick to conjure up any rant they can come up with as long as they can tie it to some inbred hate of President Bush or the military. Fear mongering is their platform.

Case in point, Democrats.com followed the President’s speech last evening with the following blog entry, “How Quickly Will the National Guard Kill a Mexican?”

Many Texans like myself remember what happened the last time the US military patrolled near the US-Mexico border: a team of Marine snipers shot and killed an 18-year-old US citizen, Esequiel Hernandez, Jr. Hernandez was tending a flock of goats within sight of his home while carrying an antique, single-shot .22 calibre rifle

Interesting enough, the Daily Kos is usually the source for much of the moonbat ranting that travels across the leftistsphere; this story is no exception. DK led off with the same story on Friday:

“it’s happened before. It will happen again. They can’t tell the difference between us and the Mexicans. Can you? Someone please for the love of God pass this on to some Democrat who can carry the Banner of Esequiel Hernandez, so his tragic tale will not be repeated. He would tell you himself, if he was not dead.

Plus, remember, a military on the border not only keeps people out, it also forces people to stay in.

To that I say, please leave. We really have no desire or need to keep you in this country that you dislike so much. I’m pretty sure that Vicente Fox has locked down the Mexican border with roving patrols of gun toting drug dealers, coyotes and the Mexican police so that may not be an option for you. However, I hear that Castro loves lefties that bad mouth the U.S. government. I am sure that he has a much more hospitible political environment for the likes of you guys. Just be sure to keep your opinions to yourself down there or the shooting most likely wouldn’t be accidental as in the case you mentioned above.

Oh wait. Did the lefties leave that fact out? This is just one of a slew of convenient facts they left out of their story which turned out to be a tragic accident.

These guys never seem to miss an opportunity to bad mouth the people who put their lives on the line to keep illegal drugs out of the hands of innocent children that may die from overdoses of harmless narcotics.

Here is the rest of the story that the Koser’s and Democraps left out.

Hernandez was killed after he fired shots in the direction of Marines who were on a joint military mission with the U.S. Border Patrol to guard the U.S.-Mexico border against illegal narcotics trafficking.

As the Marines were observing Hernandez, he fired one or two shots in their direction from approximately 190 meters away and then proceeded in a manner that appeared to Bañuelos as a tactical relocation. Bañuelos maneuvered his team accordingly, concerned that Hernandez was moving to another position to fire again. In the midst of these maneuvers, Bañuelos saw Hernandez raise his rifle and point it at LCpl James Blood, a member of the fire team that had moved about 30 meters to the right of Bañuelos and about 130 meters from Hernandez. Bañuelos fired one shot from his M16A2 rifle, striking Hernandez who died on the scene. — Marine Corps Gazette

Two Texas county grand juries and one federal grand jury refused to indict the marine who shot Hernandez. An extensive military investigation concluded that the case lacked prosecutorial merit.

Perhaps this explains why Republicans are ignoring their base. They probably figure that nobody on the right would be stupid enough to vote for a democrat; and they would be correct. The problem is that Republicans might just stay away altogether. This is a dangerous game. We all stand to lose big if these leftist idiots ever come to power.
