Democrats Plan to Run on Strong Security Platform (insert laughter here)

Rusty Dem SecurityThe Democrat plan for America is finally starting to come together; and not a moment too soon. Unfortunately for them it is based on a lie; and not a very good one at that.

The liberal Democrats are touting their tough stance on security as the reason to vote for change in the wake of the foiled “Terror in the Skies” bomb plot. This all makes sense and explains why everyone in the MSM from CNN, Reuters and the AP to the Washington Post, the Huffington Post and the blubbering leaders in the Democrat Party are parroting the same line that the world is more dangerous as a result of the U.S. led War on Terror.

I would almost split my pants laughing if not for that fact that these people obviously have a following that believes it themselves.

As usual, the New York Times leads the charge with their cheerleading report, Democrats See Security as Key Issue for Fall

After being outmaneuvered in the politics of national security in the last two elections, Democrats say they are determined not to cede the issue this year and are working to cast President Bush as having diminished the nation’s safety.

“They are not Swift boating us on security,” said Representative Nancy Pelosi of California, the Democratic leader in the House.

This kind of vacant rhetoric also underscores why the Democrats are warning Republicans not to “politicize” the most recent events in Britain. To do so would put the exclamation point on the fact that the world is one less terror attack safer despite the Democrats best efforts to eliminate and stonewall the very intelligence that was used to foil the mass murdering plot.

A video Monday on the Web site of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee showed footage of Osama bin Laden, referred to an increase in terror attacks, highlighted illegal immigration and pointed out the nuclear aspirations of Iran and North Korea.

“Feel safer?” it concludes. “Vote for change.”

So much for “not politicizing” terrorists who want to blow up the country.

But that is fine. The transparency of such videos serves to remind Americans that it is Democrats who have opposed just about every sensible measure that the Bush administration passed in an effort to combat terrorism. Need we remind the Democrats that Clinton let Bin Laden go so he could organize and plan for 9-11? Or how about that Clinton/Carter nuclear deal for North Korea that gave them lightwater nuclear reactors and financial aid in return for dismantling their nuclear ambitions? What a great idea that was; especially considering how that deal essentially fed North Korean armies and fueled their nuclear research while innocent North Koreans were starved and slaved. Democrats are hardly seen as any tougher on illegal immigration than Republicans. So all in all I’d have to thank the dems for highlighting this stuff for the Republicans.

Almost every imaginable terrorist plot today can find its roots in past administrations that preceded the Bush administration. In particular Republicans can highlight the policy failures of Carter and Clinton who just happen to be spokespeople for the new tough Democrat Party. Not much of an endorsement in my mind.

As usual the Democrats suffer selective amnesia in their efforts to fool a crowd of fools that they are the party of national security. The MSM may longingly buy this charade but I am willing to bet that most Americans see right through it.
