Democrats Out Liberalize One Another on ABC Debate

Fly on Dodd’s head. Fly’s are naturally attracted to
the kind of garbage that Democrats were Spewing
in the debate.

Watching this morning’s debate on This Week with George Stephanopolous was a painful reminder that Democrats not only want to run the country, they want to run it into the ground.

But first, before I get to the debate we should take a look at the comment section of ABC’s debate site to see how Stephanopolous is sizing up.

Many comments were directed at the lopsided attention given to Obama and Clinton.

  • The failure of ABC and it’s personification via George Stephanopolous to provide a truly democratic forum in which each participant is given an equal opportunity for participation fundamentally negates the integrity of the entire event.
  • This is the worse formatted debate and the most unfair questioning.
  • This was not a debate, it was an extended political ad for Clinton and Obama. ABC News and George Stephanopoulos did a horrible job mediating this dog and pony show.
  • Let’s get rid of these kinds of debates. Let’s give each candidate half hour to articulate their positions and then be cross-examined by competent people.
  • The “Bush Bashing” is really getting tiresome! None of these candidates are running against George Bush.If these people continue to criticize the President of the United States, the people will remember that it takes no intelligence to criticize, and voters will realize that they want a President that is positive about America
  • I can’t believe what I’m seeing.
  • Wow, George/ABC thanks for being so biased. Cut off the people who are saying something and let the ones not to say nothing uninterrupted.
  • Why are George Stephanopoulos’ questions all centered on Obama and his experience? I want to know where the candidates stand on issues. I don’t want to hear them critique and criticize Obama.

Great news for Republicans, even Democrats are tiring of Obama and Clinton. What has me scratching my head is why the left hasn’t figured out that these Democratic party debates are pointless,Clinton is in. The only question is whether or not she will pick Obama as a running mate, which really isn’t a question. The Democrats are frothing for an Obama ticket and I personally believe that all the infighting between the two is entirely manufactured. Suddenly they are buds on many issues. Standard line “I agree with what everyone else said, but let me just add one thing”.

Favorite quote: “It’s hypocritical of them to talk about timetables. They all have been working tirelessly to turn Iraq into another Vietnam - and they now have exactly what they wanted. Why worry about the carnage now?”

The people making comments on the ABC site are correct. This isn’t a debate, it is a well orchestrated advertisement for anti-corporate, socialists ideologues. Hell, they are even finding religion all of a sudden.

Earliest biggest lie of the day? Hillary Clinton of course:

CLINTON: No option should be off the table, but I would certainly take nuclear weapons off the table. And this administration has been very willing to talk about using nuclear weapons in a way we haven’t seen since the dawn of the nuclear age. I think that’s a terrible mistake.

Huh? When did the Bush administration say they were going to drop a nuclear bomb? Did Clinton happen to sleep throughout the cold war? Did she miss the Cuban missile crisis? There was quite a lot of talk about using nuclear weapons in a much more accelerated degree than what the Bush administration has been talking about. Her statement is beyond stupid, it’s a flat out lie.

One might be able to give her a pass if she was talking about bunker busters, but she wasn’t which she made clear in further statements. She spouted another lie on that point:

CLINTON: Combine that with their continuing effort to try to get what are called bunker-buster bombs, nuclear bombs that could penetrate into the earth to go after deeply buried nuclear sites.

And I thought it was very important. This was not a hypothetical, this was a brushback against this administration which has been reckless and provocative — to America’s damage, in my opinion.

So I think there’s a big difference, and I think it’s a difference that really goes to the heart of whether we should be using hypotheticals. I mean, one thing that I agree with is we shouldn’t use hypotheticals. You know, words do matter.

Yes Hillary, words do matter. Bunker busters can hardly be considered anything close to the nukes used in WWII. In addition the Bush administration removed the funding request for the latest iteration of the weapon. So yes, Clinton is essentially lying. Of course Democrats, in their infinite lack of wisdom conveniently forget to mention that other nations such as the Soviet Union were developing the bunker buster as well from the earliest use of nuclear weapons. Dismantling the means to destroy deeply buried hardened military structures is a strategic blunder that only Democrats would take off the table even without considering a potential enemy.

The line about hypotheticals is equally stupid. The nuclear deterrent itself is based on a series of hypotheticals so I don’t quite understand what she is talking about.

But this was just one in a long line of questions that demonstrated how far Democrats will go to give other nations a superior military advantage. It is a stupid stance that would make this country a target for all kinds of nations if the Democrats managed to weaken the military and intelligence gathering techniques necessary to keep this nation safe.

Everything the Democrats talked about was a load of crap. Reforming teacher pay is a perfect example. What party do you think the teacher unions are entrenched with? What party is in bed with unions that have made it impossible to fire under performing teachers? When Democrats talk about reforming education it is code for making amends to NCLB but the reality is that the reforms they are talking about would be negotiated with the same group that has destroyed the educational system up to now. Want to fix education? Make it harder for unions to undercut reform. How is the Democrat-AFT relationship any different than the one that resulted in the Bush administration consulting with top oil officials on an energy task force? (other than the fact that unions actually dictate much policy while oil industry execs have less of an overt hand in policy)

The Democrats on stage are disgusting. I hope they have a million debates so Americans can see their true stripes. The full transcript is here. I hope to dissect more later but don’t really know if I can stomach it.
