Democrats Boycott Fox News Debate

Not that the Democrats are afraid of free speech or anything; they just don’t like to appear in forums where they can’t control the questions. In other words they don’t want to debate the issues, rather they want to be limited to what can be asked lest they have to take a stand on something truly important to the people watching. (h/t Wizbang).

It’s bad enough that the Democrats have turned their backs on the men and women fighting our enemy so they can have the freedom to cower in a corner afraid to answer the big questions. But this amounts to nothing more than an attempt to punish news media outlets for not towing the carefully orchestrated line that Democrats have crafted. Not quite censorship mind you; that will come later once they put their cronies in charge to determine the definition of balance when they reinstate the “fairness doctrine”.

Well, it’s truly official now. The top Nevada Democrats shipped a letter off tonight to Marty Ryan, executive producer of political programs for Fox News.

After much pressure from the liberal blogosphere as well as comments made by Roger Ailes, chairman of Fox News, about Senator Barack Obama, the two ranking Democrats from Nevada — Tom Collins, head of the state party, and Senate majority leader Harry Reid — decided tonight to cancel an Aug. 14 debate with Fox. Here’s their letter:

Dear Marty,

A month ago, the Nevada Democratic Party entered into a good faith agreement with Fox News to co-sponsor a presidential debate in August.

This was done because the Nevada Democratic Party is reaching out to new voters and we strongly believe that a Democrat will not win Nevada unless we find new ways to talk to new people.

To say the least, this was not a popular decision. But it is one that the Democratic Party stood by. However, comments made last night by Fox News President Roger Ailes in reference to one of our presidential
candidates went too far. We cannot, as good Democrats, put our party in a position to defend such comments.

In light of his comments, we have concluded that it is not possible to hold a presidential debate that will focus on our candidates and are therefore canceling our August debate. We take no pleasure in this,
but it is the only course of action.

How moonbatty of them. In case you didn’t catch the classic lefty style that frequently graces the inner recesses of lefty blogs all you have to do is concentrate on some key phrases.

  • entered into a good faith agreement (As if Fox broke the good faith by giving the right a voice as well as the left, damn evil rethuglicans)
  • new ways to talk to new people (by not talking to certain people, get it?)
  • To say the least, this was not a popular decision (really, look how disappointed the intellectuals at MoveOn.Org are - “We hope this sets a precedent for all Democrats, that Fox should be treated as a right-wing misinformation network, not legitimized as a neutral source of news”)
  • we have concluded that it is not possible to hold a presidential debate that will focus on our candidates - (Let me guess, the debate isn’t about focusing on the candidates?

Welcome to the new American left. The party that hires hate filled anti-religious bigots as blog masters, the party that speaks for Jesus Christ and spits on his name the minute the lefties line up for a treat, the party of candidates who put on a fake Southern drawl when surrounded by black people in Selma Alabama and shake their finger at us bad greenhouse gas emitters from one of the many balconies in their 29,000 square foot mansions or when playing cricket on the lush fields of grass that they acquired in shady land deals. They really are in touch with their base; a classic bunch of hypocrite morons who wouldn’t know leadership, patriotism or the American way if it came up and bit them in the ass.

How long would it be under the the “open minded” policies of the Democrats before we saw circumstances similar to what prompted the shut down of Russia’s TV-6 news station because they had the audacity to criticize Putin?

I’m so sick of these anti-American bunch of losers. Let the mind numb robots vote for these pathetic pigs; they deserve them.

Roger Ailes said it best, “The public knows if a journalist’s question is unfair,” Ailes continued. “If you are afraid of journalists, how will you face the real dangers in the world?”
