Deciphering John Kerry

John Kerry has finally apologized (after first declaring that he’d never apologize). Despite the fact that his explanations and apologies ought to clarify things, I remain confused. It apparently takes a more sophisticated mind than mine to figure out John Kerry’s wiggly progress towards truth and reconciliation. Fortunately, many are trying. One of Michelle Malkin’s readers had this to say:
Kerry said that if anyone thought his remarks were intended for the military then they were crazy.
Yet he apologized today for remarks that he made if people took offense.
Well, if folks took offense that means that they thought his remarks were offensive to the military.
That means that he called those folks to whom he apologized CRAZY.
He owes another apology to us.
Laer, at Cheat-Seeking Missiles, lives up to his blog’s name and cuts through to the core truth behind Kerry’s canard:
The great debate over whether Kerry’s statement at Pasedena City College was taken out of context or not, is easily answered through a simple two-step process:
1. Assume it was a botched joke.
2. Un-botch it.Here’s the quote:
“You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.”
Here’s the quote with context:
“You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don’t, like President Bush, you’ll get stuck in Iraq.”
His “botched joke” excuse makes no sense. He thinks only dummies join the military and serve in Iraq.
End of argument.
