I have a message for every single Republican Senator who thinks that the American people will tolerate your attempts to ignore their overwhelming objections and vote for the Senate shamnesty bill that was revived by you and your cohorts this afternoon; pack your bags, clear your office and start your next career.
This message is not new, it is a continuation of the spanking the Republican party received last November when your elitist former Senators and Representatives decided that the will of the people was a secondary obligation.
If any of you think that ignoring the existing laws of this country or replacing them with a new set of complex and unenforceable feel good legislation will be the path to your next trip to office think again. I can not think of any action that has been more polarizing and uniformly opposed by the American people than the latest round of double talking, name calling, threats and down right insults that have been hurled at opponents of this latest sham legislation.
Yesterday’s latest Ramussen poll showed that just of American voters currently favor the legislation that you breathed life back into today.
A CBS/New York Times poll showed that 69% of Americans want illegal aliens prosecuted and deported. While this may be harsh it is a product of Congress’s past malfeasance and disingenuous promises to do so in the past. Rather than build support for legal immigrants your actions have stewed resentment. That resentment will be the first thing on my mind when I step into the polls next year, two years later and two years after that until each and every one of you no longer represent me or the party you hijacked.
If you would like to stay in office this can all be avoided, vote no for cloture (too late for that, 1 chance left), send this bill packing and get behind efforts to secure the border first.
