There was one particular statement during McKinney’s press conference yesterday that jumped out at me:
“This whole incident was instigated by the inappropriate touching and stopping of me, a female black congresswoman.”
I’m really glad she pointed out that she is, in fact, a women and black. I wouldn’t have noticed otherwise.
At first it seemed a little excessive for McKinney to claim that the police officer was both racist and sexist. Then I got to thinking, “When you’re making baseless accusations of bigotry, why limit yourself?”
