The Post piece (with an accompanying 60 Minutes segment) was a resounding success for the advocacy group that planted it, as was last week’s New York Times story along the same lines. The goal of all this coordinated coverage is to delegitimize the whole notion of detaining illegal immigrants, so as to prevent the government from being able to enforce the immigration law…

Michelle Malkin on the real scandal:

4) The real scandal is that even after 9/11, there are a mere 33,000 detention beds for an illegal alien population upwards of 20 million.5) The real scandal is that while 33,000 are in custody, some 400,000-500,000 illegal alien deportation fugitives are on the loose after they’ve been ordered to leave by immigration judges.

6) The real scandal is that for every detainee in custody, there are countless others who have been released and gone on to commit crimes and wreak havoc on American soil.

But those won’t be splashed on the front page and packaged with snazzy, multimedia features.

Because those won’t win journalism prizes.

There is little chance that the three liberals running for president along with the other notable morons that preach the gospel of liberalism from their various pulpits will succumb to common sense and allow for the limited self-government our founding fathers intended. Grease bandits strike as biofuel demand rises — As the price of this waste product and biodiesel ingredient has risen, so have thefts.

San Jose, Calif. - Mark Rosenzweig watched with suspicion as a tanker truck sidled up to a local Burger King’s grease bin last month. The driver plunged a hose into the 300-gallon tub of used French-fry grease and slurped it into his tank.Mr. Rosenzweig called the police, patiently citing legal codes to convince them that, yes, grease theft is a crime. He should know. As a legitimate grease collector, he has his livelihood stolen four to five times a month these days.

In March, grease bandits in South Bend, Ind., broke bin locks to get to their oozy booty. One collector, Griffin Industries Inc., has two detectives working cases in Kentucky, Texas, Florida, Missouri, and against an entire grease gang in northern Arkansas.

Grease is a traded commodity like gold or pork bellies, and its price has tripled in the past two years – leading to increased theft. The reason: Grease can be used to make bio-diesel and has seen the same price spike as corn and other biofuel inputs. (more at Christian Science Monitor)

WHY??? Because the fraud called climate change is using food meant for humans and animals for expensive, dirty, fuels. The Al-Goreans are more worried about tropical insects than human life.

Now the Cyclone in Burma has killed 15,000 and still counting. It’s a given that we (the United States) will be sending food, supplies, and probably money to help out. Everybody hates us, until they need something.

First lady Laura Bush said the U.S. government had rushed $250,000 to aid organizations operating in Burma. However, she said further aid could be delayed because Burma’s government, one of the world’s most isolationist military regimes, has not yet agreed to allow a U.S. disaster response team into the country.

Then we get titles like this: Oil at $120, Gas Tripping $4 — Time for Plow Horses and Buggies, Even Toed Ungulates? Or as the Financial Times puts it, ” … camel demand on the Asian Sub-Continent is soaring (”Camel Demand Soars as Oil Price Makes Tractors Too Costly to Run,” 05.04.08).”

The man slated to become chief pastor at the Trinity United Church of Christ has called blacks “lepers” with a “skin disease,” claimed U.S. entertainment corporations operate with “disdain” for black people, and in a fiery sermon claimed retired pastor Rev. Jeremiah Wright was “lynched” by the media and compared the embattled pastor to Jesus.Otis Moss III, lauded this week by Obama as a “wonderful young pastor,” also recently refused to deny claims by Wright that the U.S. government was involved in distributing illegal drugs to minorities or spreading the AIDS virus to blacks.

The 37-year-old Moss, nicknamed the “hip-hop pastor” by congregants, will become the head of Trinity Christ in June, taking over for Wright, whose controversial remarks landed Obama in hot water. (continue reading)

• A measure to expunge some criminal records and give job grants to ex-cons.

• A vote against making gang members eligible for the death penalty if they kill someone to help their gang.

• Opposition to a bill requiring juveniles to be prosecuted as adults for firing a gun at or near a school.

I have news for Barack Hussein Obama – forcing more restrictions on law abiding gun owners will only get them killed by the thugs who buy their guns from out of the trunk of a purple Cadillac. [snip]

Muqtada al-Sadr: “I’m giving the last warning and the last word to the Iraqi government — either it comes to its senses and takes the path of peace … or it will be (seen as) the same as the previous government,” Sadr said, referring to Saddam Hussein’s fallen regime… “If they don’t come to their senses and curb the infiltrated militias, then we will declare an open war until liberation.” (Reuters)

Muqtada al-Sadr has been riding the fence, trying to convince the US he is on their side, still trying to lead his followers, stay in the good graces of the Iraqi government (sort of), and the good graces of Iran. Looks like the gig is up and his true colors come shining through. Pat Dollard sums it up nicely:

Let’s face it, Al Sadr and his Mahdis want a government and an army within a real government and a rule army. It’s called shadow rule. That shit just isn’t going to fly, and as that hippy junky Jim Morrison said, “This is the end.”

His issued his warning after Iraqi soldiers swooped on the Mehdi Army’s stronghold in the southern city of Basra. Iraqi officials said they now controlled the Hayaniya district.The dawn raid by government troops there was backed by a thunderous bombardment by U.S. warplanes and British artillery. [snip]

Sadr has threatened to formally scrap a ceasefire he imposed on the Mehdi Army last August, a move that could trigger a full-scale uprising.

In his statement, Sadr did not refer to the ceasefire, but his spokesman in the holy city of Najaf, Salah al-Ubaidi, said the cleric was not bluffing.

“We mean every word,” Ubaidi told Reuters.

British police and security agencies are keeping tabs on 30 terror plots, 22,000 Individuals, and 200 Networks, facing a threat level that is severe and growing. I wonder if they are listening to Islamic cleric Yunis Al-Astal who said, “We will conquer Rome, and then Eastern Europe and the Americas.” Go to No Compromise and read his commentary on this, you won’t be sorry.

Wamer Todd Huston rightly says, “Our schools are sending more idiots than ever into our greater society. But, the fortunate thing is they “feel good” about themselves.”

We no longer educate in the United States of America. No, instead of making it possible to educate our children we emot-ucate them. It’s all about our children’s tender egos, their vaunted self esteem, their itty bitty feewings.We don’t want them to know or understand so much as we want them to “feel good” about themselves. If they don’t know during what years the civil war was fought, that’s OK as long as they think they are “good people” anyway. If their math skills are substandard, who cares as long as they really like themselves? (continue reading)

We have Islamic schools inside the United States, being paid for by your tax dollars. But say a Christian prayer in school? Liberals forbid! Islamic radicals can stand up anywhere they want, say whatever they want, and it seems to fall into a different category than infidels speaking out against the Islamic radicals. No if we do that, we are ‘racist’, we are speaking ‘hate speech’. We better get our act together folks.

Very few leaders in this country will “name” the enemy. Until that happens, we will NOT be fully prepared to defend America against the threat posed by Yunis Al-Astal.
