Audio Link: Senator Rick Santorum on Senate Floor – WMD Found In Iraq

Senator Rick Santorum just announced on the Senate Floor that the US Army National Ground Intelligence Center is reporting that the U.S. has uncovered 500 Checmical Weapons in Iraq since 2003.

The unclassified document was released three hours ago. Listen to the audio clip of that report speaker.gif here.

Key Points of the document released:

  • Since 2003 coalition forces have recovered 500 munitions of degraded mustard or Sarin agent
  • Additional Filled and unfilled munitions are assessed to exist but have not yet been categorized
  • Pre-Gulf War weapons could be sold on the black market for use by terrorists
  • Most likely munitions remaining are Sarin and Mustard gas

As Senator Santorum made clear in his speech, the threat always existed that Saddam would supply terrorists with such weapons. Democrats have been beating the no WMD mantra for three years. All the while they ignored the very real question as to where they went. Now we may find out.

Captains Quarters has the PDF Link of the document here.

Hot Air has video of Santorum’s press conference here.
