Are YOU Qualified to be a Community Organizer?

I’ve been wondering what exactly is a Community Organizer? A quick Google search brought me to The Marin Institute where I found this helpful information.

Community organizing looks at collective solutions — large numbers of people who engage in solutions that impact even more people.

I usually run screaming from any person or publication which uses the word “collective” but I continued on for the sake of my dear readers.

Here are some examples from history:

  • Civil rights: The boycotts of businesses and buses in the South brought about desegregation and the Voting Rights Act.
  • Labor unions: Strikes against conditions in factories throughout the early part of this century led to the 40-hour work week and better working conditions for all workers.
  • The anti-war movement: Protests against the war pressured the
government to end U.S. involvement in Vietnam.

Two out of three of these examples have done more harm to this nation than I have room to explain.

Here’s the abbreviated version. Labor unions; paying skilled and sometimes unskilled workers exorbitantly large salaries even when they don’t work, forcing companies to send American jobs overseas. Also, unions force their members to donate “dues” directly to the democratic party and also pass out newsletters telling them who to vote for (a wise gambler would bet it’s not republicans.) The well-known Teacher’s Union (along with the Board of Education) has destroyed the American educational system by turning it into a democratic lobbying organization for liberal idiocy (also known as condom demonstrations and the removal of corporeal punishment in schools). They also allow known child molesters to stay on the payroll while they defend them in court.

The anti-war movement of the 60’s was the one of the worst disgraces in our nation’s history. Returning Vietnam vets were spit on and stoned in the street. They feared wearing their uniforms because the violence was so prevalent. Our heroes, who fought and bled and died for those ungrateful bastards were called “baby killers” and worse. Still to this day, those so-called “peaceful” protesters deface war memorials, urinate on graves, punch police horses and desecrate our nation’s flag. There’s nothing romantic or heroic about a bunch of unwashed, bare-breasted, uneducated fools running around stoned out of their minds claiming to want “peace” while rioting.

The civil rights movement, obviously, is the only one on this list where community organizing accomplished a much-needed reform. However, the civil rights movement has been so perverted, we now suffer with affirmative action (the placing of unqualified people in positions of power or prestige based solely on their race) of which Dr. King would never approve. I also wonder how he would view the black colleges, black congress and many other “blacks only” organizations.

“The community organizer…must constantly examine life, including his own, to get some idea of what it is all about, and he must challenge and test his own findings. Irreverence, essential to questioning, is a requisite. Curiosity becomes compulsive. His most frequent word is ‘why’?”- Saul Alinsky, Rules for Radicals, 1971

I imagine this is what Obama is blathering about when he waxes weird about “finding himself” and his “personal journey”. The best part about this quote is it comes from a book called Rules for Radicals! Now we know. A Community Organizer is actually a radical. Figures.

I’m sure I don’t want my president constantly asking “why?” like some head-in-a-dope-cloud hippie. I want my president making decisions, calling the shots and not wasting everyone’s time by constantly examining his life. By the time you turn 30 you’d better know what life is about or you’ll be on your parents’ couch for another 30 years. Further down the page it is noted that a Community Organizer also needs a “blurred vision of a better world.” What the hell does that mean? If I squint real hard and blur my vision, will a hippie smell any better?

These people have a real problem. They’re dangerously unprepared for reality because they live in a world where they truly believe if they just wish hard enough, everyone will hold hands and dance around naked in a daisy field. The person who runs the United States of America (a big job by anyone’s imagination) needs to have clear vision of the world as it is, with all its dangers and ugly corners.

We have dealt a serious blow to Al Qaeda in recent years, but they’re not defeated, and they’ll strike us again, if they can. Iran remains the chief state sponsor of terrorism and is on the path to acquiring nuclear weapons.

Russia’s leaders, rich with oil wealth and corrupt with power, have
rejected democratic ideals and the obligations of a responsible power. They invaded a small, democratic neighbor to gain more control over the world’s oil supply, intimidate other neighbors, and further their ambitions of re-assembling the Russian empire. And the brave people of Georgia need our solidarity and our prayers.

As president, I’ll work to establish good relations with Russia so that we need not fear a return to the Cold War. But we can’t turn a blind eye to aggression and international lawlessness that threatens the peace and stability of the world and the security of the American
people.

We face many dangerous threats in this dangerous world, but I’m not afraid of them. I’m prepared for them.~John McCain
