Anti-War Morons Vandalize Iraq War Memorial

“The Iraq War Memorial near Mt. Pleasant, Michigan was vandalized. Someone torched the flag, bent the flag pole over, tore up the flowers left by the families for their loved ones, and caused “other destruction”.

Police say that they don’t believe that it was a ‘hate crime’, merely an ‘anti-war crime’.” Yeah, right.

Donations are being asked for to restore this monument to our brave men and women, many of which lately came from Northern Michigan.

I received the above via email from a friend this morning. It’s a pathetic, low-life, thing for anyone to do. If you don’t agree with war, fine. That’s your choice. But to attack a memorial, how utterly sad and disgusting. This goes WAY beyond an ‘anti-war crime’. This is ‘hate’ pure and simple. Hate should be prosecuted as such, punished as such. So they don’t like Bush, they don’t like the war … have respect for the soldiers who gave their lives to keep America free. They gave their lives protecting the rights of idiots like these vandals.

Below is the rest of the story from 9 & 10 News. Spread the word.

The Iraq Memorial is at Island Park in Mt. Pleasant in Isabella county. Police think the vandalism may have happened in two separate incidents, one earlier this month and another over the weekend.

The memorial was erected in 2005 for the Late LCPL Justin Ellsworth and all the men and women who have served and are serving in Iraq.

It was built with donations from the community.

9&10’s Mona Nair and photojournalist Bridgette Pacholka have more on the vandalism.

If you’d like to donate money to help fix the memorial. There is an account set up at Isabella Bank & Trust under the name Justin Ellsworth.
