American Nuclear Attack Contingencies

The United States is working up contingencies in case of a nuclear terrorist attack inside America. Al-Qaeda has made it clear they want to attack the U.S. with nuclear, or dirty bombs. They have plans in the works to carry out this threat. The ideal plan for the U.S. is to prevent such an attack. In case prevention fails, how would American citizens and emergency organizations react?
The efforts to prepare a detailed blueprint for survival took a step forward last month when senior government and military officials and other experts, organized by a by a joint Stanford-Harvard program called the Preventive Defense Project, met behind closed doors in Washington for a day-long workshop.
The session, called “The Day After,” was premised on the idea that efforts focusing on preventing such a strike were no longer enough, and that the prospect of a collapse of government order was so great if there were an attack that the country needed to begin preparing an emergency program.

In the event of multiple nuclear attacks, the plan would “require powerful government intervention to force people to do something many may resist — staying put.” Fred Ikle, a former Defense Department official in the Reagan administration, said “the government should plan how it could restrict civil liberties and enforce a sort of martial law in the aftermath of a nuclear attack, but also have guidelines for how those liberties could be restored later.”
This has shades of the TV show Jericho, where multiple nuclear devices were detonated on U.S. soil, the resulting chaos. The bottom line is prevention. Prevention. Preparation. Information.
“You have to demystify the nuclear issue,” said May, who now teaches at Stanford’s Center for International Security and Cooperation. “By talking about this, you take away the feeling of helplessness.”
Local governments and individual citizens who are informed and prepared will make all the difference in how the U.S. survives any nuclear attacks. For me, prevention starts with what we are allowing to go on in our country right now. We have training camps here, we have mosques where hate against the infidels is freely preached. We have groups that urge Muslims to push for special treatment in schools, work places, communities. We are not doing all that we can to prevent terror attacks.
Interested in military training as an Islamic jihadi? Try Islamberg, a 70 acre complex situated within a dense forest at the foothills of the Catskill Mountains on the outskirts of Hancock, New York. All the advantages of a Pakistan, Afghanistan, or Saudi Islamic terror training camp, but here in the United States.
Can’t get realtarget practice if you’re a jihadist? Try paintball.
Americans for Truth Forum recently discovered recruitment videos placed on the official website of the Young Muslims (YM), the youth arm of the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA), whose contents included an animated graphic of rockets being fired on and destroying the United States, a 9/11 message from “the American Al Qaeda” Adam Gadahn, and previously unseen footage of a paintball range located in the United States used for training Jihadists, just like the FBI discovered at the home of the Fort Dix 6 earlier this week. While the rockets and the message had been released previously, the more puzzling and disturbing footage is the depiction of what appears to be mock suicide bombings and IED (Improvised Explosive Device) truck bombings. (More)
Each American should start with their own home, their own community, State, and then Federal government for better prevention, better preparation, better education of the general public. Personal responsibility is key.
