Afghanistan-Taliban Terrorists Take Another Korean Hostage Life

koreanHostage.jpgThe Terrorists have taken another Korean hostage’s life and the Afghan government gets ready to move in for a military strike.

Michelle Malkin puts it as:

Second hostage reportedly killed…world yawns

Unfortunately, it is true. The world is yawning and the sooner the world stops yawning the quicker we can close this ugly chapter in history.

The AP reports:

Both the families and the South Korean government have appealed for an exception to the international practice of refusing to make concessions to hostage-takers.

The Afghan government, however, said releasing militant prisoners was “not an option.” Afghanistan was criticized by the U.S. and other Western countries earlier this year when it released five Taliban prisoners to win the freedom of an Italian hostage.

I feel for these families. It must be agonizing knowing that your children or family members lives hang in the balance of the murderous tendencies of nutball terrorists. However, I agree with the Afghan government, we can not negotiate with terrorists; they will use this same tactic over and over. The world can not continue to release terrorists back into the population. Releasing terrorists will come back to bite us because at the end of the day they are still terrorists.

The South Korean government reiterated its opposition to any military attempt to free the hostages. Family members have also expressed concern that a military operation would endanger the lives of the captives.

Sadly, their lives are already in danger. These animals have already killed two people and are willing to kill more. They do not value life, they value death, therefore the only conclusion is that we, collectively, must see that the terrorists themselves meet the untimely death they wish to perpetrate on others.

“There is no reason or need to give up on dialogue at this point,” said Cheon Ho-sun, a spokesman for South Korea’s president. “There won’t be any military operations without our consent.”

I can hear the desperation from Cheon Ho-sun. Again, terrorists are not interested in negotiating for peace through dialogue. Their only interest involves getting their pals released, many of whom will go on to wreak more havoc later on. We must not allow this to happen.

The way I see this situation coming to an end is through a military operation; one that hopefully results in the bad guys dying and the good guys being set safely free. It is a crap shoot, but the Afghan government does not have another choice. It is clear now after the second execution that these terrorist bastards are not going to release the hostages. The world can not afford another misstep by capitulating to the demands of the crazies of the world.

The South Korean hostage story was also the top news story on tonight’s 700 Club. Key point to the story according to the viewpoint of CBN: the hostages are evangelical missionaries.

    Pat Robertson comments:

The fact that there is nothing from there White House–there should be a major announcement. Here’s Brown, and uh, talks with the President. Why don’t they make a joint statement, that this is outrageous, and demand the release of these hostages. Of course the Taliban can do whatever it feels like doing, but I think they should be wiped of the face of this earth…But ladies and gentleman the prayers of God’s people will prevail.

Interesting statement on many levels. First, you could hear the frustration in Robertson’s voice that the Chosen President of the Christian Right was not taking extraordinary measures to save fellow Christians (who cares how many Muslims die in the mean time). And why should the he? To break with a 20 year policy of not negotiating with terrorists seems to be against the President’s policy of ’staying the course’.

It’s also fitting to see that Robertson wants the Taliban wiped off the face of the earth, since that is exactly how the Taliban feels about Robertson. So much for loving thy neighbor.

I do agree with Robertson on one point: the Taliban can do whatever it wants in Afghanistan since the US is sitting on a failing policy in Afghanistan where the Taliban is resurgent, reconstruction is lagging, and opium growth is at an all time high.

My favorite part comes later in the show when the 700 Club airs a segment on how Islamic terrorists are using the media to create propaganda for their theocratic cause. Money quote from their ‘expert’ Richard Miniter: “they want all of us, even those of us who are not Muslim, to follow their laws.”

Did Robertson forget to remind his guest the mission statement of Robertson’s own Christian Coalition?
