A report is out that details the much ignored other side of the Gitmo detainee story that has been underreported and concealed by the mainstream media. The hack editors at many of the major worldwide newspapers fall all over themselves to print alleged stories of military abuse committed by U.S. soldiers above the fold. But rarely do you see the same kind of attention being paid to the other side of the story.
I often ask myself why I have to search for stories that paint the U.S. military in a more positive light? The only answer I can come up with is that the editors and most of the pedestrian staff at America’s premiere media outlets are a bunch of self loathing hypocrites who hold the enemies of the United States in higher regard than our sons and daughters serving in the U.S. military.
Thus you have to look past the New York Times, Washington Post and Editor & Publisher to find this Gitmo Guards Often Attacked by Detainees story over at Brietbart.com. You will note that this is an AP story; one that could have easily been picked up by the mainstream media if not for their inherent bias against our success in prosecuting the War on Terror.
The prisoners held at Guantanamo Bay during the war on terror have attacked their military guards hundreds of times, turning broken toilet parts, utensils, radios and even a bloody lizard tail into makeshift weapons, Pentagon reports say.
Incident reports reviewed by The Associated Press indicate Military Police guards are routinely head-butted, spat upon and doused by “cocktails” of feces, urine, vomit and sperm collected in meal cups by the prisoners.
Of course, an AP story sympathetic to the U.S. military wouldn’t be complete without a thorough rebuttal by an opposing point of view. In this case we have Moazamm Begg, former detainee and hero of the left who has written an “expose” about his Guantanamo experience.
Moazamm Begg, 38, a prisoner for more than two years at Guantanamo before being released to Great Britain, said he was suspicious of the Pentagon’s description of incidents, especially allegations that Muslim men tore their Qurans or used sperm in attacks. The Pentagon continues to publicly question Begg’s claim of innocence.
“This just doesn’t make sense _ especially since for Muslims this would be something that was disgusting, something that just wouldn’t be done,” he said. He added that some detainees told him they had mixed toothpaste and spit in the cocktails to make it look like semen.
Begg’s last statement begs for me to make the following observation. I can only assume that beheadings, the targeting of innocent children by suicide bombers and various acts of terrorist aggression done by known Muslims are not considered disgusting because I have yet to hear Begg or most other Muslims speak out or take action to stop it.
Count on it, Begg’s assessment will be the one adopted by the American left. Read the rest of the story to get a taste of what is often missing from the MSM coverage of our honorable military men and women.
If you, or the company you own gives 1 red cent to MSM publications that refuse to objectively cover the military, the War on Terror or the truth about the constant attacks on Israel then you are part of the problem. They want a war against this administration and they have dared you to wage a war on them. I hope you are following through.

It’s beginning to look as if those children’s deaths in Qana are a replay of the family death in Palestine. You know the latter — it was the one where the Palestinians, swiftly joined by the world media, blamed Israel when a family died while on the beach (complete with posed photographs of mourners). It was only Israel’s high tech surveillance that demonstrated that, in fact, the family died when Hamas bombs blew up under them. It may be that the same thing happened in Qana, only with higher casualties:
An IDF investigation has found that the building in Qana struck by the Air Force fell around eight hours after being hit by the IDF.
“The attack on the structure in the Qana village took place between midnight and one in the morning. The gap between the timing of the collapse of the building and the time of the strike on it is unclear,” Brigadier General Amir Eshel, Head of the Air Force Headquarters told journalists at the Defense Ministry in Tel Aviv, following the incidents at Qana.
Eshel and the head of the IDF’s Operational Branch, Major General Gadi Eisnkot said the structure was not being attacked when it collapsed, at around 8:00 in the morning. The IDF believes that Hizbullah explosives in the building were behind the explosion that caused the collapse.
Another possibility is that the rickety building remained standing for a few hours, but eventually collapsed. “It could be that inside the building, things that could eventually cause an explosion were being housed, things that we could not blow up in the attack, and maybe remained there, Brigadier General Eshel said.

Since Israel is at the epicenter of events right now, I wanted to share with you two emails that I’ve received. The first one is from an Israeli — an old Leftist — writing about the battle in Lebanon. I’ve redacted it for privacy, and edited it for spelling (no criticism is intended here, since I can’t write in any language but English):
Hizbollah is the proxy of Iran here and both are fanatic Islamic people who believe that Palestine is a sacred ground and Jews should not stain this land and they have one common interest, which they say it openly - the annihilation of Israel. The only reason why they have accumulated near the border 12,000 rockets of mid and long range, threatening the whole country, is to deter Israel, deter from what? From self defence when Iran is ready to attack us and achieve their goal.
They have turned the border with Israel into a fortress full with underground tunnels, ammunitions and rockets, and for the last six years since we left Lebanon there were quite a number of provocations, in which they shelled the Galilee with rockets, kidnapped and killed soldiers and civilians and Israel hardly retaliated. That way the deterrent force of Israel was reduced to a dangerous level.
At this stage, our deterrent force is the only guarantee to our existance here and I pray for the day that it will not be required any more. The situation reached to a level that after the last provocation we had to retaliate, with the goal to reduce the force of Hizbulla as much as possible, otherwise we can close the shop here, and this is also the reason that more than 80% here are unified and prepared to go through the destruction and shelling of their villages and town and risk their lives, in order to end this threat once and for all. So this is the situation here, how a leftist person like me sees it, as most of the the leftists in this country do.
The second is an email that intermittently surfaces when Israel is in the headlines. It predates the current conflict, but does spell out well Israel’s (and the Jews’) sense of history and at least one Jew’s growing disdain with world opinion:

I thought this might lighten things up a bit:
One Sunday morning, everyone in one bright, beautiful, tiny town got up early and went to the local church. Before the services started, the townspeople were sitting in their pews and talking about their lives, their families, etc. Suddenly, Satan appeared at the front of the church. Everyone started screaming and running for the front entrance, trampling each other in a frantic effort to get away from evil incarnate.
Soon everyone was evacuated from the church, except for one elderly gentleman who sat calmly in his pew, not moving… seemingly oblivious to the fact that God’s ultimate enemy was in his presence. Now this confused Satan a bit, so he walked up to the man and said, “Don’t you know who I am?”
The man replied, “Yep, sure do.”
Satan asked, “Aren’t you afraid of me?”
“Nope, sure ain’t,” said the man.
Satan was a little perturbed at this and queried, “Why aren’t you afraid of me?”
The man calmly replied, “Been married to your sister for over 48 years.”

Drudge linked this morning to an article in Australia’s Herald Sun that displays a series of damning photographs showing Hezbollah terrorists, and their weapons of course, comfortably ensconced in a dense residential neighborhood. The terrorists are dressed in comfy casuals, so that they can easily blend into the crowd.
Hezbollah didn’t end up in the neighborhood by accident. This strategic positioning is intended to deter Israel, which loaths civilian casualties, from destroying Hezbollah’s weapons. And if that fails, it’s meant to increase civilian casualties, with the sheeplike Western media pointing the finger of blame at Israel rather than at Hezbollah, where it properly belongs. In other words, Hezbollah is perfectly willing to see Arab civilians, especially children, die if it will make Israel look bad.

Much of what I have been writing about recently has been focused on the War on Terror and just how far out of touch the left is on this battle.
Their head in the sand attitudes pose a dangerous precedent. Ignoring the intentions of Islamic jihad threatens our way of life and makes the future much more dangerous for our children.
This morning I thought I’d take a temporary reprieve from highlighting those who are out of touch point out a couple of commentaries that display an understanding of exactly what we are up against.
Burden of civilian deaths sits with Hezbollah, not Israel - Chicago Sun Times Editorial
The Muslim gunman who stormed a Jewish charity in Seattle on Friday grabbed a 13-year-old girl to force his way into the building where he killed one woman and wounded five others. He may have learned that despicable tactic from Islamist terrorists. Hezbollah acts in precisely this way, commandeering Lebanese women, children and elderly as shields while it launches rockets aiming to kill Israeli women, children and elderly. The world’s condemnation of the airstrike on Qana that killed at least 56 Lebanese should be directed on the Hezbollah terrorists, not the defenders of Israel.
U.N.’s Dangerous Double Standard - Editorial, Investors Business Daily
Global War On Terror: The United Nations’ behavior in recent weeks after terrorists launched attacks on Israel reveals an awful truth: The U.N. is not neutral in this conflict. It seems to favor the terrorists.
Cry to Those Using Babies as Shields - Israel National News, Naomi Ragen
Mr. Ehud Olmert has my respect when he says: “They were warned to leave. It is the responsibility of Hizbullah for firing rockets amidst civilians.”
Terrorists and their supporters have lost the right to complain about civilian casualties, since all they have done this entire war is target civilians. Every single one of the more than 2,500 rockets launched into Israel is launched into populated towns filled with women and children. Just today, another suicide belt meant to kill civilians in Israel was detonated harmlessly by our forces in Nablus.
So, don’t cry to me about civilian casualties. Cry to those using your babies and wives and mothers; cry to those who store weapons in mosques, ambulances, hospitals and private homes. ….
Save your sympathy for the mothers and sisters and girlfriends of our young soldiers who would rather be sitting in study halls learning Torah, but have no choice but to risk their precious lives - full of hope, goodness and endless potential - to wipe out the cancerous terrorist cells that threaten their people and all mankind. Make your choice, and save your tears.
Passing judgment on Israel-Hezbollah. When wantonly attacked, one must disarm aggressor - Charles Krauthammer, Chicago Tribune
What other country sustains indiscriminate rocket attacks into its cities–every one designed to kill, maim and terrorize civilians–and is then vilified by the world when it tries to destroy the enemy’s infrastructure and strongholds with precision-guided munitions that sometimes have the unintended but unavoidable consequence of collateral civilian death and suffering?
…..
Hearing the world pass judgment on the Israel-Hezbollah war as it unfolds is to live in an Orwellian moral universe. With a few significant exceptions (the leadership of the United States, Britain, Australia, Canada and a very few others), the world–governments, the media, UN bureaucrats–has completely lost its moral bearings. The word that obviates all thinking and magically inverts victim into aggressor is “disproportionate,” as in the universally decried “disproportionate Israeli response.” When the United States was attacked at Pearl Harbor, it did not respond with a parallel “proportionate” attack on a Japanese naval base. It launched a four-year campaign that killed millions of Japanese, reduced Tokyo, Hiroshima and Nagasaki to a cinder, and turned the Japanese home islands to rubble and ruin. Disproportionate? No. When one is wantonly attacked by an aggressor, one has every right–legal and moral–to carry the fight until the aggressor is disarmed and so disabled that it cannot threaten one’s security again. That’s what it took with Japan.
The American people can not sit by and watch our elected officials kick the can down the road for the next generation, children of today, to deal with. This is not the world we want to pass on to them. It is time to replace politicians who go out of their way to prosecute a politically correct war on a menace whose own ideas of political correctness amounts to vile murder in the name of their god. This is my guide for all elections.

Americans worry about plenty on a day to day basis. A simple browse through any
given newspaper underscores anxiety about high energy prices, environmental issues, healthcare concerns, social security, wars and terrorism just to name a few.
Of all these concerns none of them are more dire than the war on terror and the plight of our allies in the Middle East.
Unfortunately I believe that the mentality of many Americans is out of touch with this assessment. Many Americans seem complacent in a war that they view as happening overseas even though 9/11 was a deliberate campaign to wage that very war from within our own borders. This is a dangerous way to view the threat against our way of life; one should not be complacent when terrorists and rogue dictators all but take out one page ads declaring death to us who are known by them to be “infidels”.
The enemy of the United States may have a foreign origin but one must not make any mistake; they are here in American setting up shop for the next wave of terror.
I took a recent trip to Michigan and was struck by the number of Middle Eastern people of Muslim descent that have immigrated to America’s heartland.
In today’s world you are required to state that you are not a racist when you point out these red flags. I think this is an incorrect way to view the matter. The label of racism does not apply when one shows concern for a mass influx of people from a culture that has waged war on our country. I am uneasy when I see so many of these people in one area or I should say across an entire state. Red flags do go up for me.
As it turns out, my instincts and thoughts of concern were probably not off the mark.
While doing research about Michigan I cam across Middle East expert Debbie Schlussel. According to her there is much need for concern. Debbie has been watching Dearborn, Michigan very closely for many years now. Her reports are startling.
For example, on July 28, 2006 Debbie Schlussel went to the Bint Jebail Cultural Center, which as it turns out is a strong supporter for Hezbollah and other terrorist organizations. There are several of these centers located here in the United States all of which can trace their origins back to Lebanon.
Schlussel reports that Sunday the 28th was a day or mourning for the Bazzi’s who went to Bint Jebail to mourn family members who have died due to the recent Israeli-Lebanese conflict
However the memorial service turned out to be anything but. Schlussel described the event as a “Nazi-style hate-fest.”
Let me give you some background on the many members of the Bazzi family; it is also important to note for those who wish to research this information that their name can also be spelled “Bazzy”.
Najah Bazzy was the head Muslim transcultural nurse at Oakwood Hospital located in Dearborn who has emphatically stated that “she is embarrassed to be an American”. But that hate didn’t stop her from coming to this country and helping others break our laws.
According to Schlussel:
During her tenure, the hospital was raided by the FBI for providing tax-paid Medicaid deliveries to pregnant, foreign Muslim women with fraudulent social security numbers. All of those kids are now U.S. citizens, and their American birth certificates can be sold in the Muslim world’s black market. Bazzy is one of the women featured in an exhibit in the tax-funded Arab American National Museum to which she donated an anti-Israel video by a fringe nurses group.
I suggest that the U.S. government give Najah Bazzy a one way ticket to visit her Hezbollah friends inside to the Lebanese -Israeli border. Please, wait until the temporary cease fire is over before she is dropped off. She can fight us from there.
Schlussel also brings us the scoop on Bint Jbeil’s Mayor, Haj Ali Bazzi. This is a man who can’t speak English but has managed to make it to Dearborn and obtain a Michigan drivers license, an American passport, and U.S. citizenship in a very short time. He was then reported to have told an ABC news TV crew that he “”would defend Dearborn against invasion by another state.” Schlussel also points out that many members of the Bazzi family are open supporters to terrorist groups.
I find this so comforting to have these guys in my backyard, don’t you?
The Bint Jebail Cultural Center was founded in 1994 unknowingly with the help of American taxpayers because some idiot bureaucrat made this possible. This well know terrorist organization operates under the auspices of a 501(c)(3) with all its benefits and political might. Schlussel reports that their 2004 tax return shows that they spent $85,000 on “”cultural and religious seminars and lectures,” most of them extremist.”
I especially love that this “Cultural Center” is “a frequent meeting place for Hezbollah supporters and a locale for pro-Hezbollah rallies that frequently feature anti-American and anti-Christian hate, not just anti-Semitism.”
Schlussel points out that “Despite all that, U.S. Attorney Stephen Murphy III–now a Bush nominee to the U.S. Court of Appeals–is a frequent guest at this club, including last October, when he told its members that the club and the U.S. government had “issues of common interest and concern.””
The only issue I’m concerned about is getting these terrorists out of my country and quite frankly I want a do-over on the elected officials; it is clear they don’t have my best interests in mind.
Ah, only in America can you turn a blind eye to such crap and call it freedom of speech. Can you imagine if the KKK set up shop? People would be pissed. I can tell you that this is a far more serious problem than the KKK ever was. People, wake up, wake up, it is time to awake from that long snooze. It is time to be proactive not reactive. If we rely on reaction it may be too late.

Most people harbor bad thoughts. It’s the civilizing instincts we learn over a lifetime that help us tamp down those thoughts. Thus, while we may hate, really hate, the boss who destroyed our career, we don’t kill that boss — or at least most of us don’t. “Going postal,” for all the press it garners, is a rarity. For most people, their bad thoughts remain just that — bad thoughts.
The reason I’m thinking about thoughts is the latest story about Mel Gibson. Mel Gibson’s always been tied to anti-Semitism because of his father, who is an anti-Semite in the old-fashioned Catholic tradition. This is something the modern Catholic church is trying with great vigor and success to stamp out — and part of the reason why Gibson’s father has broken with mainstream Catholicism, which has no room for his hate mongering.
When Mel Gibson made his big movie, The Passion of the Christ, there was huge uproar about whether or not it was anti-Semitic. Although I didn’t see the movie, I came away with the impression that it was a fairly accurate retelling of the Passion as described in the New Testament, with all the attendant baggage that carries. It certainly wasn’t friendly to the Jews, but it was also insufficient to spark an American Kristallnacht. It’s impossible to tell whether the latter is what Gibson would have wished to occur.
Mel Gibson is once again in trouble for suspicions that he harbors ill will towards Jews, and this time he’s convicted out of his own mouth. According to a credible report, Mel Gibson made a wild, anti-Semitic tirade:
The report says Gibson then launched into a barrage of anti-Semitic statements: “F*****g Jews… The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world.” Gibson then asked the deputy, “Are you a Jew?”

Remember way back, probably as recently as yesterday, when the left shouted from the highest mountain that President Bush tricked Americans into thinking that Iraq was involved in 9-11?
Seemingly oblivious to the fact that this lie was a myth conjured up by the left themselves they are at it again.
Today I found this lead comment on yet another Huffington Post smear on Israel.
Here is a good piece by Eric Margolis…
“The spreading war in Lebanon has bared the bizarre contradictions and self-destructive nature of U.S. Mideast policy…”
“Americans, steeped in deep ignorance and prejudice about the Mideast, are now being misled by the administration and its media allies that Lebanon is a new front in the so-called war on terrorism. As I recently learned doing radio shows across the U.S., a great many Americans cannot distinguish between Hezbollah, al-Qaida, Taliban, the PLO, Hamas, etc. All are terrorists. Listeners even called in to ask if the fighting in Lebanon was the prelude to Armageddon.”
Yup, there you have it. Us dumb ol’ merkans are being fooled by President Bush once again. We just can’t seem to get it into our little heads that the Lebanese people are different from the Hezbollah terrorists.
American’s know very well how to differentiate between these groups, the civilians and the governments who support terrorists. Contrarily it is the left who can’t seem to get their heads out of their asses and put the pieces of the puzzle together. Shit, they probably couldn’t event complete a connect the dots roadmap of terrorist links. “I don’t like how you linked the Iranians at dot number one to the Hezbollah at dot number 2; shouldn’t the Americans and Israel be somewhere in between?”
Apparently Margolis himself is confused as demonstrated by listing the PLO and Hamas as simple separate entities. Yes, they are separate groups. We can consider them as separate entities in this manner but that changed since the Palestinian authority voted Hamas deputies in as automatic members. The PLO also supports Hamas in many ways. Thus they are very much integrated even in the face of conflicts with their own separate internal structures.
The point being that the least common denominator does not serve to portray the intricate commonalities that link one terrorist group to another.
Contrarily, listing these groups under the umbrella label of terrorist organizations does just that. Something the left can’t seem to bring themselves to be able to do for whatever the reasons. Rather they downplay these links and ignore that which doesn’t directly implicate the United States in some broader imperialist plot from their point of view.
Try as they might to deny it, the left has a huge problem. Their base is anti-Israel, anti-capitalist, anti-corporation, anti-military and thus anti-American. It is true; they may as well own it.
The Democrats are going to have to perform a pretty interesting balancing act for the upcoming elections. The Democrats have courted the lunatic HuffPos for the better part of six years. The fringe is now an integral part of their misinformation network. How will the party of Cindy Sheehan and Howard Dean pull themselves to the center, keep their base and convince the dumb ol’ American people that they are the party of the future?

In yesterday’s article, “Can We Call a Spade a Spade Already?”, I discussed the sugar coated way the media reported the story of the terrorist that went into a Jewish Organization and started shooting.
Well I’m back on my “can we call a spade a spade” mission. Today’s updated AP report is no different from yesterday.
The man is a terrorist plan and simple. I’m confused; why aren’t the news agencies calling him a terrorist? Is it because you can not be labeled a terrorist while residing within the United States? Am I missing something, is he not a terrorist?
The AP once again homogenized the story with their wonderful reporting style:
The man suspected in a fatal shooting rampage hid behind a potted plant in a Jewish charity’s foyer and forced his way through a security door by holding a gun to a 13-year-old girl’s head, the police chief said Saturday.
I especially love the use of “the man suspected”. Suspected? He admitted it. He’s not a suspect, he’s guilty and he’s a terrorist.
I wonder if the 13 year old girl felt “terror” as he was holding the gun to her head? I’m going with yes. Does this not make him a terrorist? He committed an act of terrorism, didn’t he?
The AP report continued, “Haq, a Muslim, told authorities he was angered by the war in Iraq and U.S. military cooperation with Israel.”
I think a more appropriate reporting line would be, “Haq, a Muslim Terrorist, living here in the United States…..”
Oops, I guess this would not be politically correct. We wouldn’t want to pass judgement now, would we? Sorry, I’m throwing the PC crap out the window. This type of reporting helps to facilitate the complacent attitudes of the American people; I find it ridiculous.
As I alluded to yesterday, this is no time to be complacent.
“Muhammad Ullah, a close family friend and a senior member of a mosque founded in part by Haq’s father, described Haq as a quiet loner with few friends.” These nut jobs are always described as quiet loners. How many other quiet loners are in that family?
Recall that Osama Bin Laden is described similarly in a Frontline Article. “There was nothing extraordinary in his personality and that trend was rather very non-confrontational.”
I’d also like to know why this “quiet loner” was offered bail and why
“Police and the FBI are labeling the shootings as a hate crime”. What? Hate crime? How about we label it an act of terrorism? This is what it is. I have an idea; how about no bail and a one way ticket down to club gitmo?
Haq briefly glanced at rows of news media in the gallery on his way into the courtroom but otherwise showed no outward emotion.
Perhaps he isn’t showing emotion because he is a “quiet loner”. Or could it be that he did not show emotion because he’s a terrorist? A terrorist who wanted to kill a few western Jews. This sounds more like it, wouldn’t you agree?
