Odds and Ends

Both Senators Kennedy and Kerry have jumped in the blog waters and are writing articles on the Daily Kos Blog. Put on your gas mask if you want to read a sample….

State of the State of the Union address: Borrrrrr-ingggg.

t doesn’t matter who the president is, the State of the Union address is nothing more than an annual crap fest of limp platitudes, phoney politeness and gratuitous partisan standing ovations. If I could give my own State of the Union Address, it would go something like this:

Filibuster busted. Kerry looks foolish. So what else is new?

I don’t think anyone can defend the rationality of Roe v. Wade, though the rationalizations by the Court were impressive.

Ted Kennedy Screeches, Alito Reaches (the Supreme Court)

Like all fans of tv featuring shameless loudmouths doing pointless things, I looked forward to today’s filibuster of Sam Alito with great anticipation. Maybe it’s just me, but can there be anything more entertaining than watching liberals destroy the miniscule shreds of credibility that they may have had, not to mention their electoral futures, with irrational, stream-of-consciousness brain dumps?

To Filibuster or to not Filibuster, That is the Question

The [tag]Constitution[/tag]al question of filibustering judicial nominees has never been answered and it needs to be settled and now is a goodtime as any to settle it. The Democratic leadership in the [tag]Senate[/tag] have abused the provision of Advise and Consent

A simple question for democrats

I heard John Kerry calling Samuel Alito a racist today. Kerry was in Switzerland calling for a filibuster to keep Alito from becoming a Supreme Court justice, insinuating that Judge Alito endorsed the shooting of an unarmed African American teenager who had stolen a handbag. Very obviously a case recently fed to Kerry by some leftwing interest group

Political Quote of the Day….

“[Thomas] Jefferson believed that ‘no man’s life, liberty, or property is safe while the legislature is in session,’ so he wisely insisted that the capital be built in malarial swampland.
Consequently, the seat of the government remained empty for nearly half the year. Today, thanks in part to the unintended consequences of air-conditioning, we have [...]

Once Again, It’s All About Oprah

Forgive me for being cynical about Oprah. After she tried to screw my photographer friend out of the value of his work, and did so in a very arrogant, high-handed way, I have realized that the carefully-crafted image of the empathetic, all-knowing, all-caring spiritual leader is just that. Behind that preternatural façade is a narcissistic, [...]
